I found this website to be very helpful with planning a day trip to Legolandwww.legolandphotos.com. I recommend this site to everyone planning a trip to Legoland because there isn't a lot of information out there about it since it is a small and still relatively new park.
I don't believe there is a crowd level predictor for Legoland like you would find for Disney because it is a small, kid oriented park in a remote location and due to those factors I don't think the crowd levels ever parallel the kind of crowds we are accustomed to at the Disney parks. However I do think there is a chance for a higher level of crowds over Thanksgiving weekend than what my family experienced Memorial Day weekend because the water park won't be open to disperse the crowds; and it also seems like Thanksgiving weekend is a more popular travel weekend than Memorial Day weekend IMO. I would recommend being lined up at the park turnstiles at least 30 minutes prior to park opening, immediately head to the back of the park to start your touring as a lot of people get distracted by Miniland and spend a bit of time looking around before making their way to the rides, get the Ford driving school in Lego City out of the way first because this is a time chewer due to only a certain amount of kids being allowed to drive the cars at a time and they have to watch a brief driver's training video first, and lastly save looking around Miniland and gift shops for last and get your must do rides out of the way first. We did not do the Pirate Ski show or Cypress Gardens during our visit, and the World of Chima area was not open yet so I am not sure how those would factor into your plans. My kids loved Legoland and we found it to be a worthwhile "excursion" during our Disney vacation. My DS4 still talks about our day at Legoland three months later Have fun!
Thanks so much for the info here & on the other thread. Great touring advice...our thinking is very much alike.
I figured on heading to Lego City first based on everything I read. We'll leave Miniland for last and probably skip the shows due to lack of time. I'm not sure how to tackle World of Chima...double back right after Lego City or leave it for last hoping the crowds have moved into the back of the park by then...guess we'll just have to make a call based crowds that day.
Really, it seems that basic WDW park touring advice principles apply here too, so we'll just try to stay a step ahead of the crowds.
