I'm almost 90% sure that I've convinced hubby to a weekend trip to legoland for our DD6 the beginning of spring break dates mar 14-17th. I was only able to get the Monday 17th off so has to be the weekend. I've never been what to expect and is it a one day thing or do we need to do 2 days. The current deal is buy one day get 2nd free. The water park and sealife aquarium will be open as well. So not sure how and if that will effect time needed. Give me all your advice and tips pls. We will be driving from Az Friday after work so getting in to Cali late fri night. Thx!!!!

If you want to do all 3, it's definitely a two-day visit. We only did one day, but didn't get the whole regular park done due to long lines and short hours (YMMV).

You definitely need 2 days, especially if you hope to hit all three. We were just there last week and spent Wednesday and Thursday in the park. The water park was not open, and we didn't even set foot in the aquarium. The park hours were 10-5, but we got in at 9:30 since we were staying onsite. We spent the entire 2 days in the park, and my kids still wanted to go another day. My boys love riding their favorites over and over again. The crowds/lines were not bad at all, but the lines do move very slowly because many rides have to load, do their thing, and then unload before the next group goes. If you have any other questions or want touring suggestions, ask away.

My family and I are looking to go to Legoland at the end of June-begining of July. I was first thinking we only need 1 day to do all 3 attractions but that apparently is very hard to do and enjoy everything too. We have been to Legoland Florida 2 times (1-day only each time with waterpark included)and just went to one of their Discovery Centers too. Our older son who is 9 absolutely loves building Lego Kits and our other son who is 7 is just really getting starter building on his own or with mom. Here is my issue and maybe someone can help us with this challenge. We are traveling to California for a wedding in Northern California and then we are making a 3 week vacation for us. It is a very very expensive trip. I am really trying to find ways to explore and experience without too much damage in the wallet. Very hard to do. The boys really want to go to Legoland and also stay at the hotel (thanks to Dad looking at the computer in the living room and the boys seeing the hotel). The cheapest way I found to go for 2 days with full hoppers and 1 night in the hotel was $679 with AAA (Family 4-pack 2 day Hoppers-$300 and Room $379 with taxes and resort fee). Does anyone have any other ways to save a few $$$ and still pull this off. Thanks

When I booked on the Legoland site, they had tickets you could add to your reservation that were good for 2 days at Legoland & Sealife for $101 per adult plus child. It would have been $202 for your family. The waterpark was not included because it was not open during our stay. You may want to price out a package on their site just in case to see if any better than AAA. We lucked into an amazing room price but that was for a February stay. The hotel can be very expensive. I would definitely recommend just getting the basic room because I don't think it is necessary to pay $100 more for extra decor. The rooms are already themed enough.

Thanks Sleepymouse. I've been trying to find any way to bring the cost down. If I use 2 buy 1 adult ticket get 1 child free, then you need to add an extra $16 per adult and $12 per child for either the waterpark or Aqaurium and then another $20 per person to add the second day. Some that would be $101+$101+56+80=$338 plus the room at +$360. It is still almost $700. If there is a way to bring it closer to $500 which is still crazy, I would obviously feel better. I will keep trying.

Keep trying and see what happens. We stayed there last year and while it was nice and the extra hour in the am rocked it was not amazing. Very nice but small rooms....grand pacific palisades and Sheraton both next door and bigger rooms. The kids loved it .....look for a discount on the tickets

I would definitely look into the other hotels mentioned above. The Legoland hotel is really fun for kids but not worth that kind of money in my opinion. I am glad we got the chance to do it once but the walls are really thin and the hotel is a madhouse, especially at the end of the day. Several years ago, we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Carlsbad and enjoyed our stay. It is across the street from the ocean and much more relaxing and better priced. You need to drive to Legoland but not a big deal.

I forgot to mention that if you decide to just do 1 day at Legoland, look for a coupon in the Lego club magazine for free child ticket with purchase of adult ticket. The current issue has a coupon good through the end of May only.

Thanks again sleepymouse

We have that coupon and the one from the Lego cup from McDonalds however you can not apply the discount to a 3 attraction hopper only a 2 attraction hopper at $101 each. The additional attraction would cost $16 per adult and $12 per child. Then to get additional day added would cost another $20 per person. So that would cost $338 total. A family 4-pack 3 attraction hopper for 2 days is $300. I'm not sure is this family 4 pack is only sold to Legoland hotel guests only.

We are planning a trip mid-September to Disneyland and are likely to add a trip to Legoland. We've never been and will only be going one day. We thought that was enough. I didn't realize there are several parks at Legoland.

Is it realistic to consider just going to where the rides are? Would it be a letdown after Disneyland? Are we better off just hitting the Lego Store at Downtown Disney and buying lots of Legos?

Dukland, if you only have one day, just do Legoland (theme park). The other two "parks" are just the Legoland Water Park and Sea Life Aquarium. Legoland itself with rides is just one park.

It's fun, but Disneyland is still way better.

We have annual passes to Legoland and one day is fine..DL has tons more. Our kids are young and we have a lot of family there so it works for us but DL is tops.

I have been looking at several prices for LegoLand.

I have concluded that if we are going to only do ONE day and ONE park, then the child free with paid adult offers, are the best deal where we can match an adult to a child. These offers are in multiple places. I have one on the back of one of the free Lego Sets that Lego included with one of my Lego Orders.
Just don't buy these on eBay, I can not believe people are really able to sell them there, when this offer is so easy to find.

Otherwise the Adult 40% off, that I found somewhere, was the best deal. This one was sponsored by Barbara Cereals. I am pretty certain I found the link to it on these Dis boards.

However,
For two or more days, the Expedia offer looked the best. Their 5 day ticket is less than their 2 day ticket, and very close to the 1 day price.

We will be in that area for 3 days, but only one full day.
We arrive Saturday afternoon, and have a reservation in the DL area starting Monday night.
Then we stay in the DL area through Friday.

For those who have been to both the LegoLand store, and the Lego Imagination Center in DL, do they tend to have very close to the same selection of pieces on the PAB walls?
I know the Lego Imagination center in WDW has a significantly better PAB selection than the Lego Store in Austin.
