Lego Rock Band game only and need....

We bought Lego Rock Band for DS 10 for the Wii and it's game only. I am assuming we need the instruments to play this??? Can anyone give me any tips on if I need them and where to find them? We don't have the regular Rock Band game and the instruments and I looked up the bundle online and they are really pricey as a set!!! Any help will be appreciated!

Do you have guitar hero? i believe that the guitar works for this game.

Glad I read this. I bought this for $14 at Target this weekend to go in our family gift box. Out it comes and back to the store it goes! I must've not looked at the back of the package very carefully as I didn't realize you needed instruments for it. We already have Rockband 2 for the XBOX and storing THOSE instruments in DS's room is a pain. I don't want more cluttering up the family room. Shoot, they love the Lego Star Wars game - I didn't think they'd care for Batman or Indiana Jones but Rock Band sounded like a good option. Back to the drawing boards.

no you cay play with any instrument only, i only play with the guitar...if you wanted to be a band then you would need everything but if you only wanted to play with the guitar you could.

I'm only good on the guitar, so it's the only instrument I use.

Just remember, you can not mix instruments. You can not use a Rockband drum set with a guitar hero guitar. You can use all Guitar Hero or all Rockband or all Band Hero instruments. Rockband is the most universal set, it works with all the other games.

Buy Lego Rock Band for XBox and you can use the rockband 2 instruments for it.

Awe, don't give up on Batman and Indiana Jones Lego games!! My DS's LOVE all the Lego games. Indy is apparently more strategic but I'd think if your DS likes Star Wars he'd like Batman for sure..... My DS7 likes the Indy game but he has trouble playing it without Dad to help him.

Good to know. I may exchange it for the Batman version. It's only $5 more anyway. It's just that my boys don't really watch Batman or Indy. Of course, they weren't big SW fans before they got the game.....

To the PP who suggesting getting it for XBOX - I might but that would have to be for DS only as that is his console. The family box is only Wii items as that is our family console. I could get it for him and put back for his birthday, though.

on a similar note,, i hope you don't mind , i just bought the lego rock band for a DS ... do I need to get something to go with it ?? or can they just play this game.. i read the box. and it does not mention anything else to buy to go with it ...

I agree with others that the Lego games are all great - Star Wars and Batman are more similar to each other (gameplay-wise) than the others are. The Lego Clone Wars game will be coming out soon, and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean has also been announced. I'm really looking forward to them!

The Wii is much less forgiving than other consoles when it comes to the instruments. On the 360, you can mix and match different kinds with no problem. That's one reason I recommend that anyone who has multiple consoles get the music games for something other than the Wii - the instruments are much more interchangeable.
