I rented this from GameFly as I  the Lego games and also Harry Potter..

Well DH and I started playing it last night, and we could not stop...This game is SOOOO much fun...

Anyone else played it yet?

DS7 bought it yesterday , been saving his money for months for it since we heard it was coming out.

Ds and DH played for several hours yesterday and this morning. I made him turn it off about an hour ago because his brain is going to turn to mush . ;)

so, is the game worth it in your opinion?

YES YES AND YES!!!

Like I said, I got it from Gamefly, and I am on the 2 at a time plan...this one may be staying at the house for a while till we see it on sale somewhere..

I have the Xbox version, have not seen it for Wii or DS yet..

so, is the game worth it in your opinion?

Definately YES according to my DS, who is 9. He has all the Lego games (except the rock one)...Batman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars...and says this one is the best.

He saved up his money for 6 mos to get this (well...I spotted him $4). Just watching it, it looks fun, even though I am not a gamer.

Since I have to practically pry him off of the game with a crow bar, I'd say it is worth it, lol.

I picked it up for DS yesterday for the Wii. He had lots of birthday money left. He played for hours yesterday.

Could you tell me, does this require alot of reading? My DGS is 5 so the games he plays can't have commands that he needs to read in order to play.

I might ask for it for my birthday... I'm a pretty big fan of HP (if you couldn't tell from my red tag), and it looks like a lot of fun!

My husband says it doesn 't have alot of reading in it, but does have some.

I took my son (9)to buy it for the Wii the day it was released, he'd been counting down for ages.
From the way he's been playing it the last week, I'd say he loves it. I have to tear him away when he's been on it long enough.
I have to say I am totally clueless about them, why you have to go around breaking everything into pieces. But whatever, he absolutely loves it.

My sons are obsessed with this game. They had saved gift cards from thier birthdays and got the Wii version and the DS version.:confused3 (Because we so need a game to take on the plane, Mom!)The concensus is the Wii version is better. I've had to set time limits or they'd never get off the Wii with this game.

We just moved from NY to Tampa  but I forgot I pre-ordered Lego HP for Wii back in March - so it got delivered to my old address the week we moved!! USPS said it was their error and I should have it by tomorrow here in FL, but geez, it's been a long wait and my DS' 7th birthday was in early June, so he has no idea that this is coming! So glad to hear that everyone is enjoying it!

Hi Mom!!

We downloaded a trial tonight on the Xbox360 and it was great. Lots that he could explore, and DD8, DS5 and I watched while DD10 and DH played and we all enjoyed it. It is for sure going on some kids wish lists!!

Once you explain it some he will get it.

I don't have HP yet but if you are into Star Wars, the "Complete Saga" is pretty cool.

I also bought Indiana Jones and I have to say so far not loving it but I am not that far into the game. I guess what throws it for me is that is does not follow the movie precisely enough. That is the hook for me.

So I hope HP follows the book/movie well. Anyone want to comment or know what I am talking about?

It does a decent job..some liberties were taken, but the cut scenes are HIALRIOUS!

DH and I are ADDICTED..we have been playing nightly...I havent had a game I love this much in a while

That sounds great. I need something to break my "Left for Dead" playing.;)

I'm hoping the Lego HP is more like the first Lego Indiana Jones and not like the second Indiana Jones (which was terrible and very different)?

Can't. Stop. Playing! :goodvibes

We LOVE all of the Lego games and saved up money for months in preparation for Lego HP. My DS7 even wrote on the calendar "Lego Harry Potter comes out - yay!" and we headed out first thing on June 29th to pick it up.

So far, it doesn't seem as complicated as Indiana Jones 2 - you don't have to complete a level, then go back to retrieve Treasure Chests, do the timed courses (don't get me started on the timed course that went up the hill, over the land bridges, down the hill, into the water, etc, etc....I had nightmares over that course!), but we haven't replayed any of the levels yet in Freeplay mode.

We think Lego HP is the best so far! :cool1:

I really think they should do a Lego Twilight. ;)

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

I've already posted once on this thread, but thought I'd comment again since I've actually been watching DS play the game.

I think it follows the movie pretty closely. Most of the liberties taken are the more violent parts of the movies (ie Voldemort does not kill Cedric in the game). To me, as a watcher, I'm enjoying it far more than the Star Wars or Indiana Jones games.

DS now has asked to see the movies (he never saw them before...he was too young) so he could understand the game better. So we've even had a few 'family movie nights' to watch HP 1-4 so he could play the game. So this has been fun for all of us :goodvibes.

I give the game two thumbs up...again, lol.

I'm liking it so far!

I preordered it at game stop and picked it up the day it came out.
