no reviews, but...do you mind if i as where you got it?
I've been looking for an advent calendar for my DD5.
i already grabbed the ponyville for DD6, and the Littlest pet shop for DD2.
These are a great way to collect a lot of mini figures. Also, if you enjoyed it, look on the Lego site after Christmas and pick up one for next year for 1/2 off or less!
What one did you get? Last year we got the Lego City one which was fab, and a great way to collect extra figures, my DS who was 8 at the time loved it. This year he's getting the Lego Star Wars one, which looks fantastic, and the younger has Lego City but a different one from last year's.
I have been looking at this for wks. My 4 yr old really wants a lego santa. Does anyone know if the 2008 set comes with a lego santa? I will probably buy mine from the lego site. But I heard they sell out quickly.
ooh I'm embarrassed. Caused an international incident, have I? Looked out the advent Calendar today and it's Star Wars alright, but not lego!! Sorry girls! It is fabulous though and I will keep it because my son will love it, I'd bought it ages ago and in my head it had beome Star Wars Lego - you know how it is, you've got so much stuff you can't remember what everything is. Incidentally, I'm in the UK and bought ir from Woolworths, it's made by Revell if anyone wants to see if they can find it online - it cost £16.99 which is about $28. Sorry again. That'll teach me, mind you, I was convinced it was Lego, not looking forward to explaining that one to my husband. Jackie
P.S. here in the UK they have (definitely!!!!) Lego City and Lego Castle Calendars.
We got one last year at the book store. Was $25 no shipping so that was nice. The older 2 did a great job of taking turns and leaving it all set up until Christmas. Then they added the piced to their lego collection.
This yr I can't decide what to do. I want the playmobil one, esp for DS 4 but all 3 will have to take turn but the oldest DS wants the lego one. I am sure middle DS wants both LOL it's not in my buget to get 3 right now
you can usually get playmo advent calanders 2nd hand off ebay. My younger son had the Knights one last year, and it was great. In fact, we repacked it and his cousin who is just 1yr will get it when he's 4!
We have been getting both the Playmobil and Lego Advent calendars for several years now. DS is 12 this year so I wasn't sure if he wanted to continue but he says 'it is tradition'. I admit, I love the Playmobil one so I would have gotten that one for myself. Yes, I am a kid at heart.
The Lego City ones are fun. After a few days there are instructions to build a bigger thing from the Legos that were accumulated thus far. We usually keep the smaller things though. I highly recommend it for any Lego lover!

Well, I thought I would give an update since my Lego Advent calendar arrived today from Amazon.
It looks like so much fun! I know DS is going to absolutely love it!
Inside the box is a plastic tray with sqaure compartments for each days surprise. Each surprise is packaged inside an individual package an placed into the tray. When the child 'opens the door' there is a picture of what the surprise will be once completed.
The little mini figs look cute. There are 10 in all including a mountain climber, baker and snowman. There are also a construction worker, a policeman (I think), an inmate and several people with various types of foods. There is also a small snowmobile. These will be good for year-round play with the Lego City sets.
