I'm sorry to hear about the cruise being canceled but at least you are still going to Disney I always look at it this way...the cruise will be around in years to come and it's something to look forward to again down the road

I love digital too. Took me a while to convert though. Bad thing is, my camera EATS batteries. I was trying to take a pic to post to the DIS and batteries are dead with no spares in the house - anywhere.

Me too It is so expensive if you don't have someone to split the cost with. Maybe one year you and your DH will go with a big group and you'll be able to do it. We've at least gotten to experience the Illuminations Cruise so I'm not totally missing out.

You can't use regular batteries. You've got to invest in some rechargable Energizer batteries with the plug in charger---just don't forget your charger when you go on trips! It's also a good idea to buy 4 extra rechargable batteries---that way, you can change them out and always have 4 charged batteries (that is all the charger holds)

My battery charger is one of the best investments I've ever made!

sounds WONDERFUL. We don't have one here anymore (besides the one on campus). The mall (rather, sad excuse for a mall) got bought out last year and has been closed for a LONG time now. They are supposed to be demolishing most of it (besides Dillards, Sears, and Rite Aid) and making it a strip mall of some sort. I just don't know why they closed it so early and haven't really done anything! My chick-fil-a was in there! They said they were going to build a free standing location and never did. And now I'm sure their franchise rights no longer exist (after more than a year)

Bath and body works was in the mall too.

Okay, end of off-topic rant.

Our supid mall wante them to sign a long term contract when they were going through the deal with the children's place and of course they wouldn't, so no disney store for me.

what the heck mall are you near? That is ridiculous!! Don't they know who Disney is?? Once a Disney store goes in they are there for good, contract or not! Geesh!!

We continue to lose good stores and replace them with what I call "hoochy mama" stores. You know the ones that are dedicatded to club clothes. I understand having one, but we now have 6 in our mall.

Well, since it looks like I'm all alone this morning I figured I'd take this lull and make the sad sad announcement that we will no longer be booking a Wishes Cruise for Chris' birthday.

Here's what happened....
A few weeks ago, Chris and I were discussing our trip and other things that we need to pay for besides the trip and we almost decided to cancel Disney! Yes, I know it's hard to believe but it was considered. We are currently in the process of trying to get our house up for sale and there have been other odds and ends that have come up in the process so we weren't sure we were going to be able to afford everything. Then we decided that we could just pay for Disney with our extra tax refund that is coming to us So, that crisis was averted!! **whew**

But we did decide that we don't need to be doing things at Disney that will cost us quite a bit extra like the Wishes Cruise. The other deciding factor in that is the fact that some of the people that were going to go in on the cost with us backed out so we just decided to nix the idea all together. One year when we have quite a bit of extra money to spare we will do the Cruise but it just won't be this year.

So there you have it folks....that's one of the major changes on the itinerary that I've been hinting at. I just wanted to be sure that it was really not going to happen before I announced it to you all.

So, do you guys have any suggestions as to what to do for Chris' birthday now? I was thinking of just getting the group together and going to Adventurer's Club or the Comedy Warehouse that night but I'm open to suggestions.

Major Bummer!! I know the Town Center Mall in Kennesaw has quite a few "hoochy mama" stores too but at least it has a Disney store. The Disney store I like the best is at Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville. I don't think I've ever been to the Gwinnett mall

I just checked my UG and the age for PI is 18 so if that's where we end up, you're all good I'll post official plans once we make a decision.

They're taking forever with that construction too. Just get it done already! I just want to know what kind of stores we'll be having. All the mall used to be was jewelry stores We'll probably get the same crap, just in a different layout

I want a Disney Store and a Victoria's Secret. Bath & Body Works too, of course. Some sort of baby store like Baby Depot or Babies R Us. I hate having to go to Slidell or Baton Rouge to shop for baby showers
