Leger Wonka Pre-Trip....Little Surprises Around Every Corner (7/6 New Purchases)

Hello to all my faithful readers and lurkers....I just wanted to let you all know that I am still alive. Things have been just crazy lately. As you all know, a few weeks ago I had company. The DIS slacking started there. Chris and I got a motorcycle too and I've been trying to help Chris get the riding skill down. I also went and got my motorcycle learners permit last week. On Friday Chris took me to our church parking lot to get a feel for the bike. Well, I did good going in straight lines for about a half an hour. Then I tried a turn and laid the bike down. I am fine...just a little bruised on my elbow and ankle. I did manage to break the left front turn signal though on the bike. Chris did good @ keeping his cool. I got back on the bike for about 15min and decided to call it a night since I was so flustered.

It's fun and I still plan to learn but not on my own bike. I'm gonna get on the waiting list for the class so I can crash their bike

The other thing that is keeping me from DISing so much is the quilt retreat that I have coming up at the end of the month. I have a few things I need to get done for that so until I get all that under wraps y'all probably won't see as much of me as before. The retreat is July 31st through August 6th and the place we are staying at does NOT have internet access I hate to even think of what I'm going to have to catch up on here when I get back.

After the quilt retreat I should be back and making updates as often as possible. I'm going to try and get in a few before then too to keep this thing going and to keep y'all updated and entertained.

I made some Disney Store purchases a few weeks ago. And I also got quite a few things from Rebecca when she visited. I've taken pictures of most of it but haven't uploaded them all to photobucket yet so I'll leave you with a preview

Sounds like you're bogged down with that like I am with quilting stuff getting ready for my retreat. Not enough time!

If you are going to tan at all after getting your tattoo I would advise that you put gauze or tape over the tattoo to cover it while you tan. My Stitch tattoo was healing funny after I got it and then I went to MK in March (I believe that was about a month after I got it) and I don't think that helped at all. It ended up getting a LOT of sun the day at MK even with sun block on it and to this day it dries out a lot if I don't remember to put lotion on it every day. I'm not trying to freak you out but I don't want you to have problems with your ink. So, either cover it while you're tanning or sacrifice and don't tan at all....or use a self tanner. Maybe ask your artist what he suggests too.

Yes, all of this is making our trips seem SO close because when you sit down and think about it....in about a couple of weeks WDW will only be TWO months away!!!!!!!

I will ask the artist when I get it done, too, and see what he says. If Mike's not ready to do his this weekend (since we are doing them together), I might just start tanning this week so I can attempt to get a little bit of a base before we get the tattoos. 2 weeks would be good--and then that'd be a good time to get the tattoo done--it would give me 2 whole months to heal before the trip!
The longest I will wait to get the tat (maximum) is the end of this month. That would still give me 6 weeks.

Thanks OB. I am okay. The bruise on my elbow seems to be a little worse today. Every time I lean on it it hurts but I will be okay. I tend to bruise easily anyways. That's true, I probably will look back on it and laugh and figure how much of a rookie mistake it was.

Thanks. It's not for a few weeks still but I'm not ready for it to be here yet so that's fine with me. I still have a lot to get done before the end of the month. Seems like this year is just FLYING by!

Yeah, you could probably do that. Just remember to keep sun block on your tattoo while at WDW. The sun fades the color...not fast but over years and if you keep up with it pretty good you won't have to get it touched up as quickly as you would if you don't put sun block on it. I hope you can get them both done this weekend. Two months to heal before your trip would be great. but 6 weeks wouldn't be bad either. I just can't wait for you to get it. First tattoos are so exciting!

YES I do. My legs are terrible. Sometimes when I wear shorts I feel like someone is going to ask me if I get beat or something. I can hit my let on something barely and there will be a huge bruise there the next day. It's so bad.

Good luck with that. We have that problem too with our dogs. You know that though. Two go to my Mom's house and the other two go to the in-law's house. We actually had to change it this year because my Mom and Dad's bigger dog did NOT like the fact that bo was bigger than him. He kept trying to attack him. Soooo this year Midnight and Harley go to my Mom's and Bo and Lexie go to my In Laws. Should be interesting. I hope you can find someone that is willing to watch Chance.

My first tattoo was my angel wings on the back of my right calf. I have been told many times that that is one of the hardest places to get tattooed (very painful).

I know..it sucks. Thanks! I was trying to do a turn ...I was going really slow so I think I just freaked out and over corrected which is why the bike ended uip on the side. Thanks Nikki.
