Mini-TR Update 3
This should be the last bit of the day at MK.
So, As I left you we were taking pictures in front of MK on our way to the resort monorail. Here's one more for your viewing pleasure.
So, we make it up the steep hill for the monorail (did anyone notice how much longer that walk up that hill seems when you're hot and tired??). We got on and there was hardly anyone on there. I think we had too much heat exhaustion or something because something kept buzzing really loud in the car we were in and we weren't freaking out....rather we were laughing our booties off at it! Rebecca was freaking out a little and I think that made us laugh even more. Seems stupid now but I was laughing so hard at that point I was almost crying again.
So, before the delirium started, we decided to go to the Poly. I've already been to the Contemporary so we skipped that.
Here is a picture of us in front of the entrance to the resort.
I got oh so excited when I saw this!
We shopped in the store for a bit and Rebecca found some more pins she hand't seen anywhere else yet. As we were strolling from the pin area (which is outside the store) into the store, the lady in the pin area kind of hollered at Rebecca that she should pay there. Rebecca said "I'd like to look around the store first, I'm just going right here, can't I take these inside the store with me??" The lady got even more rude and said, "well, yeah, I guess you could just pay in there!" We quickly sped away from that crazy lady and browsed the store. Once we were done looking in there, there was a line at the register in the store and James pointed out that there wasn't a line where freaky lady was. Rebecca looked at him like he was crazy and said she wasn't going to pay there, she'd just wait. LOL! So, she paid and on our way out the crazy lady was indeed gone hah! It was a much nicer lady that stopped me and asked me where I had gotten my new hat and gave me a compliment on it. Yay!! Maybe crazy lady was having a bad day and it was nearing smoke break time or something. Who knows!
We walked around a bit again on the lower level to see if there was anything interesting down there and once we figured out that the resort was WAY too big to just walk around we sat down for a bit.
And then I got a picture of the waterfall on the way out
Next stop, The Grand Floridian Resort!!!
The monorail this time was just fine....no weird noises.
So, we stopped to take a picture out front yet again at the GF. I think all the rich people thought we were crazy. One kid actually walked by and asked us what we were doing. I said "what does it look like we're doing?" Ugh! Anyways, here's our picture with someone we don't know taking their time walking by (we were tired of waiting for there to be a lull in foot traffic to take the picture).
So, we went inside, shopped a little...most everything was like the shop at the Poly. So we came out and listened to the band play for a while. Which was VERY awesome btw!! So classy. I felt so out of place lol!
Here's a picture of the lobby (I forget what the map called it...I think an atrium?)
It was gorgeous in there!!
We found a couch on the top floor and plopped down. It was close to the DVC desk they have there. The CM was very nice and said hello and such. She also joked with us and said "how dare you relax on your vacation!!" LOL. She was very nice. I think she was having fun listening to us talk about how posh and ritzy it was there. We were giggling the whole time. Especially when we saw this girl walk by with a see through top on and a purple bra hahahaha!!
I snapped a picture of James and Rebecca and as I snapped I said "Look Rich!!" James of course didn't start bursting out laughing till after I took the picture. He thought it was so funny. I think I caught Rebecca off guard again, what do you think? lol
Then the nice DVC CM came over and asked if we would like for her to take a picture of all 3 of us. I said yes and I told them to do something funny in the picture....you know....to "look Rich" haha! I'm the only one willing to make a fool out of myself apparently LOL.
While we were in the resorts we missed our fastpass time for Buzz. Oh well. I'll ride it at least 3 or 4 times with Chris in September, I'm sure.
Oh, and on the way back to MK from GF we got yet another weird monorail. This one was dripping water from the ceiling!! Now that can NOT be safe! But we still found it hillarious. And then I almost fell and we were laughing about that. I know, we were delirious!!
I'm not really remembering what all we did when we got back since I don't have a lot of pictures after the resorts for some reason. I think we shopped a little again, I also think we rode Stitch's Great Escape....hmmmmm....Oh yeah, and I broke my camera....but, before I broke it I got some pictures of the castle.
As we passed through the hub of the park Rebecca saw a duck. She's apparently enamered with how friendly they are so she was reaching out for this one and it kept coming closer to me instead of her. For some reason I attract ducks at WDW....Remember this one from last September??
Well, here is Rebecca and her duck at MK
As it came closer to me she was trying to get closer to it and I was snap snap snapping away taking pictures and all of a sudden I grabbed the camera with the finger that had the band aid on it (it was my pointer finger and yes, I realize...that wasn't smart)...and BAM!! Down with the camera right on the lens!!!!!! The lens wouldn't go back in when I turned the camera off and all the pictures I took with it were blurry on one side. I started bawling right there in the middle of MK. People were staring at me like I was some sort of crazy person for crying in the middle of the happiest place on earth and that didn't make things any better. So we sat on the bench while I calmed down. Rebecca was a huge help and James (being the awesome tech guy that he is) got my lens to go back in when he shut it off. So I sadly put the camera back in the case and we strolled over to Space Mountain because our Fastpass time was quickly approaching.
Me and James rode Space Mountain while Rebecca waited on us outside. Oh it was more fun than I remember. There was a really cute kid in line in front of us that kept talking about how awesome roller coasters are. It was so cute. He couldn't have been older than 6 years old.
After the fun on Space Mountain we went and caught my favorite viewing spot for Spectromagic. Right underneath the Liberty Tree. Still an awesome spot to view the parades even during spring break. It was a great parade as usual!
We were going to watch Wishes but after seeing the crowd that was lining up just for the parade on Main Street an hour and a half before Spectromagic we decided to just stay back in Adventureland and munch on some magical Disney popcorn.
Waiting until after the fireworks to leave was a HUGE mistake! It took us an hour just to get back to the car from the park. And then another half an hour to get back to my other friend's house. I was exhausted by the time I hit the sack that night but even with a broken camera it was a very fun day and I'm glad I went. I will never plan a trip for spring break though. No way!!
And that will conclude my mini-TR. Hope you all enjoyed it!
