Twice last year, but I wouldn't do it again, it just takes too long, when I was getting a free holiday through Tesco's Clubcard scheme it was good, I wouldn't pay for it though.
This is what I wrote about the journeys last year
March, 2007
I was a bit dubious about the coach travel, but courtesy of Tesco's Clubcard deals it was too good a deal to miss.
Our coach left Cwmbran in South Wales, our local departure point bang on time at 6.40 am, we had a pickup in Chepstow and one at Aust services and then we were on our way. By 1.00pm we were at Dover waiting for our 3.15pm sailing and believe me there is nothing much to do at Dover Coach Interchange but we sat outside watching the gulls and it in all fairness it did break up the journey.
With the extra hour added and following a pleasant ferry trip we disboarded at 5.45pm - back on schedule, everything went well until we reached CDG area of Paris where a road traffic accident had brought the roads to almost a standstill. As time went on it became obvious we weren't going to arrive at DLRP mid evening.
Our eventual arrival time at Sequoia Lodge was 10.50pm

Outbound
Collected at Newport at 8.25am as promised and we made good time on the trip to Dover with a couple of stops onroute to stretch our legs, our crossing was scheduled for 3.15pm, the Leger announcement came over the tannoy and we all got back on our respective coaches and waited to board and waited and waited. An hour late, we were finally on our way, but the crossing was very, very, rough, thank goodness we'd all taken travelling tablets, although despite Liam also wearing his Seabands, he was ill, poor thing. The journey from Calais to DLRP was uneventful and we arrived at the resort at 10.30pm, one hour late exactly, last time we were the first drop off at SL, this time we were last but one after the SF and Cheyenne, but it was lovely to see their Christmas decorations up too, Cheyenne's looked particularly effective. Finally it was our turn and I have to say Leger do provide a very good service, the drivers go into the hotel to check you in and confirm everythings as it should be.
Inbound
The trip home was long, for some reason we had different people on our coach and we ended up going a long way out of our way to drop them off, in fact we did 4 hours straight with no break from Dover, with a group at the back of the coach complaining it was cold, hence the heating was turned up for them and just as we finally turned into a service station, Liam was ill which wasn't very nice and embarressing for him. To give the Leger drivers their due, they were fabulous, obviously not the first time it's happened as they were more than prepared with mops and buckets and they got my cases out so we could get clean clothes, but I definately won't be going by coach again and I'm quite relieved that Leger have left Tesco's Clubcard Scheme, so I won't be tempted by the offer of a free holiday.
