Has anyone used leger and gone by coach with local pick up? what was it like?

I've done it a few times but not for a good few years. Pick up was fine, took a coach to Dover then swapped to another coach.
Planning on doing another at some point as because it does take a while to get there I quite enjoy it :)
Let us know if you want to know anything specific :)

What is leg space like? is there toilet on board? How long does it take, what time did you leave and arrive?

Thankyou x

Leg space is fine, same as any coach you'll go on really.
We've always had toilets on board but they obviously get smelly ;) theres at least one stop at services along the way do Dover too.

From memory, we've gotten to the ferry about 2 or 3 ish and you can relax when on board that too.
From Calais I remember it then taking about 4 hours to DLP (including another stop at services) and arriving at about 9:30pm ish (have arrived earlier, have arrived later :) )

I find leger to be pretty decent value and good and efficient at what they do :)

We have gone by Leger twice found it easy in respect of the picked us up locally, took us to the hotel and handled our luggage. But our local pick up point was half hour away and it was 6am pick up and we didnt get to our hotel until 11pmish!

They are more comfortable than other coaches weve been on , the played kids films and sold drinks on the coach.

Coming back was a nightmare both times changing coaches somewhere in France.

We did a Leger holiday package to DLP but it was in 1998!! So quite a long time ago.

We did get a hotel upgrade though and day 3 included a tour of Paris & Seine river tour. It was very tiring but only cost us £99 each.

My husband and I went with Leger on a coach and I think it was Disneys 5th Anniversary so yonks ago.

We live in Hull and got the coach around 5am, we arrived in dover around 3-4pm, and got to Disney around 9.30 - 10pm that night.

It was ideal for us having no children at the time, as it was a very long journey and as Hull is one of the main pickups we did not have to change coaches but did seem to stop at every single village/town until after I think Grimsby or Scunthorpe.

There was a toilet on board and leg room was enough for me.

It is a long journey but will not be going with them again due to having 3 children and self driving there is now more convenient for us.

Thank-you all for the information. I think we may go eurostar and stay in London night before.

We have done coach and Eurostar.

Coach...

We arrived at Dover too early for the first ferry and had about an hour to kill on the car park. From Calais it took about 3-4 hours. On the way back we got stuck outside Dover harbour. The swell had become quite large and the Port was full. We circled outside the Harbour Wall for a couple of hours, which wasn't very pleasant.

Eurostar...

Self drive to Ashford on the Saturday. Booked in to Travelodge at Ashford. Went to the cinema to see the latest Pirates of the caribbean film. Frankie and Bennys for something to eat, then the bar in the hotel for a nightcap. Up early the next morning, drove to Ashford International, 2 hours later we were at DLRP. Stayed at Travelodge on the way back, then drove home to Manchester.

In my opinion, the best way to get to DLRP is Eurostar.

Im about to go on my first trip to Disney Land and cant wait.

I looked at loads of coach trips, Ledger, Golden Crest, Johnsons etc...

Ive booked a 3 night / 4 day trip and found it cheaper going train all the way there!!

I couldnt find a train early enough to get to london for the direct train and therefore we are travelling at 9.45am and arrive in Disney at 5pm. We have 2 changes (London and Lille) with an hour inbetween.

Park shuts at 7pm the day we arrive and also fireworks.

Coming home we are on the 7.40pm train home and gets us home about midnight. (only london change)

This means we get 2 hours on arriving, 2 full days and upto 6pmish on last day.
When I looked at Coach, we would leave earlier in the morning, arrive later in the day, 2 days in parks and then back home again.

What im trying to say is we got 3 full days in the park, Disney Hotel (magic hours) and im sure its less hassle on a train than on a coach, for less money too!

Thank-you all for the information. I think we may go eurostar and stay in London night before.

Just a thought...you could always go to Ebbsfleet and pick up the Eurostar there (though if you stayed in London you could get an earlier train for that valuable extra time in the parks). Ebbsfleet is really handy for us folk out East :)
