I'm wondering about the legal part of getting married in orlando if your from Canada / Alberta to be specific.
We are thinking of doing a disney cruise wedding my understanding is that they have to do the legal wedding at port canaveral before the boat leaves...

Can anyone help me with this.

@Disney_Alli is a Canadian who was married at WDW recently - I believe you are correct for DCL brides the legal ceremony is done while you're still in port, so the marriage license stuff should still be the same

You can get the mail away license from Brevard County. Super easy. You'll have to find a notary but it's a super simple process. We didn't have to do anything once we got home.

I'm so torn on what to do... do a mini do the formal paperwork part here or .... Attempt the doing it a port part...

Also once you get home you do not need to register your marriage... If you're changing your name you can take the marriage license to the registry and they'll change your name on your license, same for the bank. The registry can also change your name on your Alberta health card, it's super easy. Speaking as a fellow disbride, albertan and @Disney_Alli 's sister

Even if you do nothing in Canada you'll still have to get the license before your ceremony in port. You can do it in person in Florida but we didn't have a weekday to get over to the courthouse so we did it from home. The hardest part was finding a notary and that was just a Google search away.
