What do you all do with the leftover candle wax from your good candles. I splurge and buy the good candles, like Yankee, but then it seems like the last inch is unusable because the wick won't stay lit. I've tried the electric candle warmer and it doesn't work for me. (They also seem more dangerous than a lit candle because the plate gets VERY HOT!!! :Pinkbounc

Any suggestions? I know I'm not the only one who doesn't want to waste the last inch of an otherwise good candle. :scratchin

I try and burn it until it's about a 1/2 inch, but I usually just throw it away when it's down to an inch left.

It says on the bottom of a large jar (Yankee Candle) "Discontinue use when 1/2" of wax remains, as glass may shatter."

I love my electric burner. I save the candle stubs and break the wax up into small pieces and burn the pieces in a votive holder.

If you don't want to do that, you can buy lengths of wick, break the leftover candles into small pices, melt the wax down, tie the length of wick around a pencil and let it hang down to the bottom of the holder. Then pour the was into a glass candleholder and make a whole new jar candle. Melt the wax in a double boiler and make sure you get the proper size wick for the holder you are using or else it won't burn right. I've never been able to stop mine from sinking in the middle, they burn okay like that, but the don't look so pretty.

You can search the internet for candle making, there are plenty of sites with better instructions (and pictures) than I just gave.

Good luck!

Freeze the jar, pop the wax out, then melt it in a tart warmer. I do that with votives. They sell the tart warmers at Yankee- just light a tea light underneath.

The leftover wax is supposed to be there, and the wick is not supposed to light at that point. It's so that the jar doesn't get so hot that it shatters. I just dig it out and put it in a plastic baggie, then melt it in my tart warmer when I want to use it. Smells just as strong as the candle itself!

I melt it in my electric potpourri crockpot.

Partylite candles burn completely until there's nothing but a metal or plastic clip left.

I agree with others that say get an electric candle warmer. Put them all in a used candle jar and let it burn, baby!
