When you have an occasion that you take TONS of pictures of.....and you decide to do a scrapbook page or album with them, what do you do with all the "extra" pics, that you don't scrap? And do you ever have 2 albums for say one vacation? We went to Disney last year and I took a ton of pictures and have a 3-ring scrapbook album that is so full I CANNOT place another page protector in it, but I still have a dozen or so layouts that I need to finish.

And say for your child's birthday party you have like 20 really good pics and you use only 5 or 6 on a layout. What do you do with the rest? I'm really not one to put them in a regular photo album. What do you?

i do put mine in a regular album. i found one that i like at michaels and that's what ALL my pics go in until i scrap which ones i want. so say for my sons bday i print all the pics i took and they go right into the album (before anyone looks at them) and then when i'm ready to scrap them i pull out the best ones of the group and the rest stay together. it's what works for me. that way i have all my pics in the order i took them minus the scraped ones. and when i have an extra moment (which is not very often) i go back and rearrange fix the pics so i dont have a bunch of wasted space in the album.
i do it this way because i could never scrap every pic i took!

I save mine for a collage type page for a year in review layout. Or some go in the family albums but some go in the kids individual albums.

As for Disney, my first trip was 2 albums and the second trip is looking like it will be too. I just found the 1/2 way point and split it there.

this is too funny, I just saw this post on the Cricut board, it must have been from you.
I don't print every picture but if I print it and don't use it I keep it.

Before digital I have all my photos in an album..... (albums.. last count was 25book according to DH kids) now they are in photo boxes to be scrapped.. than I will put them back into albums that are not the sticky back kind like I had..

Now w/ digital I print the best of the best and than some.. the than some will go into brag book albums (the kind you just slide them in) and the rest will be on CDs that will have a pocket in the back of the scrapbook album..

I'm so glad we went digital because there are so many bad photos we paid for that I could have done w/o!!!

The extra pictures are great when kids need them for school projects. My son (just completed 9th grade) just had to do a timeline and we were able to pull from the extra pictures and not worry about getting them back. We will also use some of them to make posters to put up for his graduation ceremony in three years--don't have to worry about them getting smudged.

We also use these to send to relatives or give to friends.

I keep current extras in a box, along with the extras from years ago, in envelopes marked by year, major event, etc.

My older "good" pictures are still in albums--someday I want to go through and put in a simpler scrapbook and eliminate the bad/why did I take this picture ones. But that is a future project.

Like others here, I use mine in a collage or a picture calendar pages.

I like having actual pictures to look at so I go through my digital pictures and print a copy of all the ones that turned out good and I like. These go in photo albums. I then print a selection of photos that I plan to use in my scrapbooks. If I don't use them all, they get put in my "extras" box for when I need photos for something else or someone or whatever.

I put spares in my powersort box (unless I decide I really don't like them at al) - but I'm a great one for tight cropping to get as many on as possible

i have more than one album for vacation. Our vacation to turks and caicos was 3 albums and our first trip to Jamaica is 4 albums (two are scrapbooks and two are regular)

i think my disney album will be at least two!

I am definitely in the minority here! I don't print every single picture, but if I have a couple extra pictures that I didn't use, I throw them away. I figure I've got the best layout I can do, that's done, they are all on the computer (backed up in 2 places - I learned that the hard way!), why do I need extra pictures laying around? If it's a big event, like a vacation or something, I make an album for that specific event and I put a layout in the yearly album. So I might use extra pictures that way, but once it's done, I trash them.

I save all the pictures I don't use and give them to my two girls to see if they want to use them for their scrapbooks. I have 2 albums from our Thanksgiving trip to Disney and my other ones may not be 2 albums but they are bursting at the seams because they're so fat!!

Happy Scrapping!
