Hi everyone...

We are going in November, and have 9 day park hoppers. Now...we need 8...and likely won't need the 9th, but wanted the ability to be spontaneous if we wanted to. The cost for us (2 adults and 2 kids) to keep these is around $40. So nothing much. I was wondering, if we don't use the last day, is there any way we can have them taken off our bands into paper tickets and pass the disney magic along to someone waiting in line to buy tickets (they get a free pass for the day)??? I would really love the ability to do this, but wasn't sure if Disney would allow this. I thought it could be a fun way to pass on the pixie dust if you will. Any info would be super appreciated!

No. Tickets are nontransferable.

Only completely unused tickets are transferable. Once you have used them, you cannot transfer any part of them.

No you can't transfer tickets.

If I was you I would look into switching your tickets back to just 8-day tickets. Then, if you want to be "spontaneous" you can have the 9th day added back on. No need to waste $40 to be "spontaneous." :)

Bingo!

Thanks everyone...that's too bad!!!

I didn't know you could add them on? Can you add a day once they've been used?

After you use a ticket to go into a theme park at least one time is WHEN you should do the upgrade.

Yes, USE the ticket at least one time to go into a theme park BEFORE you do any upgrade.

After you have done so, you will get the current FULL GATE PRICE for the ticket that you have already used.

I know that you are curious as to WHY...
it's just a Disney "bookkeeping thing."

The LATEST time you can upgrade is ON the same day that you use a ticket's last asset.
Or 14 days after you first used the ticket, whichever is earlier.

So, if you have, say, 8-day tickets, the earliest time to do the upgrade is after you have used one day's entry, and the latest time you can do the upgrade is on the same day that you use the 8th day's entry. (Or, it can be done at any time in-between those two events.)

You have 14 days from the first admission use of a ticket to use the full admission of that ticket. If you want to add days to that ticket, it must be within the 14 days of first admission, but before the end of the day on the last admission of the ticket.

Example 1 - Length to use the ticket: You have a 5 Day MYW ticket that you use the first admission on 5/8/15. You have until 5/21 to use up all 5 days of those tickets.

Example 2 - Adding additional days.: You have a 5 Day MYW ticket that you use the first admission on 5/8/15 and plan to go 5 days in a row and use the last day admission on 5/12/15. During the middle of the day on 5/11/15 you decide to stay until 5/13 day and now need 6 days of admissions. You could go to the ticket window at the park/DTD or concierge at a resort and add the additional day.

I do it all the time...only buy the days I KNOW we will use. Then if we want to go another day, just add it at the hotel. Just make sure you have used the ticket at least once, and still have a day or more left.

1. Just make sure you have used the ticket at least once,

2. and still have a day or more left.

1. Usually a good thing. Can't hurt. Might help.

2. Actually, you can even upgrade an "all used up" ticket as long as it is before close-of-business
ON the same day that you used that ticket's last "day."

Although in the world of FP+ reservations, it almost makes sense if you think you would be "spontaneous" on arrival day.

Ie: if you arrive on the 1st, and had an 8 day ticket with FP+ booked for 2nd-9th. If you enter the park on the 1st (to lock in your ticket bridging) MDE might auto cancel FP+ on the 9th

We still don't know, for sure, if that will or won't happen... but, the fact that it COULD is a bit scary.
