I have the quick service dining plan added do a split stay with my first 6 nights on the dining transferring for one night without. If I have left over credits I know I can use them on my checkout day but what happens when I go and check in to my next resort? (especially if I check in early) Will any of those credits just disappear? Many years ago I had an issue happen when transferring to another resort with left over credits and for some reason they couldn't find them. They issued me a gift card to cover it but I just want to make sure if anybody else was in the same situation and how it worked out.

DDP credits expire at midnight check-out day. It makes no difference what time you check-in to your new hotel or even what you do throughout the day. As long as you are on Disney property you can use your credits until midnight. For peace of mind I would confirm my leftover credits at your new hotel when you check in. Keep your receipt from your last transaction using a DDP credit. The leftover credits are usually displayed at the bottom, as proof just in case but you should be fine.

The same thing happened to us on our check out day/check in day of a split stay. We checked in to our 2nd resort and then headed over to Homecomin'. The server couldn't find our last table service credits so I spent most of my meal on the phone with Disney customer service trying to figure out what was going on. CS could see the credits, but Homecomin' couldn't. CS ended up telling us to pay for the meal out of pocket and get reimbursed by the Poly when we got back, which is what we did. They theorized that it may have been because we tried to use the last credits at a non-Disney owned restaurant. We will have the same situation in May and I plan on using our last credits at a park instead of Disney Springs.

Don't forget that you could always do what happened to me once-A very nice family gave me these 2 cupcakes in a CS restaurant. They said they were leaving the next day and had the extra credits.

I read previously that people's remaining credits seemed to 'disappear' once they had checked into their second resort. We have a split stay with free QS dining plan for 8 nights at POR, and will likely use our remaining credits for dinner after we've checked into Grand Floridian (I know they expire at midnight). Good to know I need to keep a check on them and will mention it at check in.
