Left my diamond bracelet at AKL.....

I realized after leaving AKL and checking into Poly that I had left my BRAND NEW diamond bracelet on the vanity!!I called immediately and after about 10 minutes on the phone with a front desk clerk she told me THEY FOUND IT!!!!!The housekeeper had turned it in.Now I know I was in Disney and I know it was what she was suppose to do but I can tell you I had my doubts that I would ever see this bracelet again.I was 99% sure that I had left it there but 1% of me thought I simply missed placed it.I had left it in the safe and took it out that morning because we were leaving and the rest is history!!
Needless to say I left a nice tip for her and thought I might call AKL to get her name(I'm kicking myself for not writing it down!)and write a letter to Disney to let them know how wonderful she and all of the CM's there were in helping me get this back!

What a wonderful story about honesty! I would suggest you write that letter even if you do not know the name of the individual housekeeper. If you provide enough information, enough details, someone at AKL will figure out who the housekeeper was.

I agree with JudithM--write them and tell them the day and room # and all the details and I bet they can find who it was

They are great with that. We have lost things and they have found them. Like my husband glasses were left on a table during one of the Christmas parties. Imagine, they found them that night after going through all the pans in the kitchen that were going to be washed and called us. My son lost a jacket in the Magic Kingdom, got it back the next day. Lost a set of prints, they mailed them to us.

That is the wonder of Disney.

DR & I were at AKL this past September and for whatever reason we had the most forgettingest (is that a word?) trip ever! We lost a room key, left a sweatshirt in the dresser - it was hilarious - or horrible take your pick! We never have this problem, but for some reason we kept misplacing everthing - even the remote control! I think its because we were soooo completely relaxed there and needed that weekend getaway so badly we just lost it!

At anyrate - everything was turned in and mail home to us - which Disney paid for -I though that was MORE than generous since it was our fault! We even left a Disney Charater drawing in the Safari Jeep at Kilanmajaro - it was turned in and mailed back to us!

This has only ever happened at AKL so I can't speak for any other resorts - but AKL was just great to us!

That's great! We stayed at AKL and loved it too, the CM's there were all awsome...well, except the checkin lady, but other than that....

Funny thing is she was terrible at housekeeping!2 of the 4 days we were there I had to call and ask for soap and clean glasses(she even left dirty glasses in our room 1 day!).I was thinking maybe they don't replenish daily but 1 day we had someone different and she said they were suppose to replenish daily.So not only did I leave a tip for her every morning I also tipped the person who brought things up after our calls!
Poly housekeeping was much better!We had soap,glasses and towels overflowing every day!I even hung my used towels back on the rack to let them know I would use them twice(there's a sign to do that)and she still replaced them!
I was just happy to have this bracelet back!They can keep the soap!haha

I had a similar experience at AKL, the first morning there, while getting ready to go out I removed my wedding ring (WHY?) it sat on the bathroom counter all day - and I found it just where I left it.... I love honest employees!

Thats great! I know just how excited you are! I too lost a diamond bracelet on our last trip somewhere between our last ride of the morning at MK and arriving in our room at the Poly. After a few phones calls and no luck I left our info "just in case". I thought for sure it was gone. Less than a week after we arrived home I received it in the mail. I was thrilled! And I did write a letter to WDW about that and some other really great CMS we encountered during our trip(and one not so great one )
Definitely write. im sure these CMS must appreciate guests who take the time to thank them.
