We have finally decided we want to go back to Orlando for Christmas this year, but I am afraid we may have to pay a premium for having left the arranging a bit late.

Anyone help with flight suggestions
Ideally we want to leave from Edinburgh/Glasgow to either Orlando (mco or sanford) or Tampa (we have friends in that area so could meet up with them as well)

Any help would be gratefully received

Have you tried delta? We booked about 2 weeks ago from edi to tampa (via amsterdam and detroit, memphis on way back) for Christmas, 23rd Dec until 1st Jan for £388 each which i thought was not too bad for Xmas. If you can play about with dates and times you may get a cheap(ish) fare.

US airways may also be reasonable? Worth a look?

Have you looked at Jetsave? It would include accommodation, but when I have looked they always seem very reasonable. :)

Hi,

We booked last month for Christmas and New Year and got great flights with US Air flying from Glasgow - we used to always fly with Virgin but were finding it was getting more and more expensive every year - two years ago we decided to book DIY and saved ourselves over £2000 for the same holiday(only difference is indirect flight), we do DIY every year now and generally find US Air have the lowest fares.

I've just had a look and flights are still pretty cheap depending on your dates.

that sounds good
how are us airways?
if you dont mind me asking what dates are you going?

I've found US Air to be great - we've been pretty lucky and found that the flights tend not to be full so have had plenty of space. If I was to compare it I would say the service isn't as good as Virgin but massively better than Thomson etc. The only drawback is that it's not a direct flight but for us the savings we make mean that we put up with it.

Last year when we were flying to Orlando for our Disney Cruise there was a delay at Gatwick and US Air were amazing and juggled flights to make sure we made our cruise.

We're going 26th December to 8th January, I would have liked to have gone before Christmas but we went away over Christmas day before and our wee girl was really worried about how Santa would find her :) and it also means we don't have to carry presents.

We used to go in the last week in November ( very quiet and all the Christmas decorations are up) but we've got to stick to school holidays now.

Thanks for the info

We went with continental this year, but any of the airlines are quite pricey for any of the week before christmas. Maybe will wait a wee bit and see if they come down (looking at vegas for october too, and those prices have dropped aroun £200 each over the last week)
