Leeds visit

Well, we had great fun. Weather wasn't brilliant. Very cold to start and it was overcast and drizzly; it cleared up as soon as we flew out - it was lovely and clear on the flight home!

We flew Jet 2, which was fine. Had a rental car and I had splurged on a posh hotel which was lovely.

Friday we went to the Film & Photography museum and looked around Bradford. Relaxed at the Hotel in the Pool & Sauna and had a lovely dinner in the restaurant

Saturday we went to Tropical World, quite small but nicely done and then we shopped in Leeds. Leeds is brilliant for shopping, we didn't even manage to see half of the shops. Loved the arcades.Found the Disney store but they didn't have anything. Was surprised that the sales were already almost ended. Manage to get a couple of DVD's and PlayStation games, including the Haunted Mansion game. Back to the hotel for Sauna/Swim & dinner which wasn't nearly as nice. Food was good, but staff was rushed of their feet.

Sunday we ordered room service and had a bit of a lie in. Weather was cold but sunny - good for our plan of a scenic drive. First we had to go back to Leeds cause one of the PlayStation games had the wrong disc in it! After taking care of that we went off towards Harrogate where we stopped for lunch and then drove over the moors. By now of course it was overcast and raining - so no panoramic views for us! Cut it a bit fine but made it back to the airport on time. Easy flight home, long wait for the luggage.

As usual we had a great time, did a lot of stuff and so it felt like a week away instead of just a couple of days.

Next trip: Palm Springs & Disneyland!!

We were at the De Vere Oulton Hall *****- via LastMinute.com. They had quite a good package with B&B, dinner vouchers, upgraded room, fruit & drinks in the room etc.

I must admit if someone had asked me where to go for good shopping, Leeds wouldn't have been in my top 100

Perhaps I'll pay it a visit

I'm glad you had a nice time. I love that hotel. My parents live about 10 minutes away from there and my best friend had her wedding reception there. I feel like having a visit home now to go as I miss that area so much. Unfortunatley I live 2 hours away from Leeds now.
