LED Christmas Lights

Yeah I don't love them either. They are almost neon. Not christmassy in any way!

My neighbor decorated outside with LED lights and the next day she took them down and put up her old lights.

I have all LED lights outside now. Three strands of multi-color mini lights are strung from an evergreen on one side of my porch, all the way around the front door, and then around an evergreen on the other side. I have a candy cane sculpture on the lawn with two deer. The deer are covered in gold tinsel so the twinkling lights reflect off that and look "warmer" than LEDs usually do.

I love them. They're very colorful and bright. Next year, I'm going to get a couple more sculptures for the other side of the lawn, and they're going to be all LED. I think they keep improving the technology of them. The newer the LEDs, the better they look IMO.

Well, I guess everyone would hate my house then because we used the cool white. We just have a garland draped over our large front window and intertwined (spelling ?) the LED lights and red ornaments throughout. We also have the same garland and lights wrapped around our porch columns also and in the yard we have yard stakes that are LED snowflakes that twinkle. It is very tasteful and simple. Everyone has their own opinions, but its all really about celebrating the season and being festive.

Me and DGF love the LED lights. They are so much more vibrant. We bought a white tree with blue LED lights and it looks really cool even though it doesn't exactly scream Christmas. We love it and we can really tell the difference between the houses that use LED lights and the ones that don't.

I've never actually been a fan of the lights that have that yellow tinge and I'm glad they finally come out with some pure color lights. I also really like the new LED TVs and plan on converting my headlights to LED.

I hate blue lights.

We bought 8 packages of the LED icicle lights, thinking we were doing our part for the environment and our electric bill. DH put them up. It got dark and we went outside to see the house all lite up. I cried. I hated the way to looked.

Bless his heart, next day DH was up on the roof taking them all done. Spent the afternoon setting up the soft white icicle lights and putting them up all in the rain.

All of our other outside decorations were soft white also. Besides my dislike of the lights, it just didn't go.

I did like the way they sparkled against the house though. Really had a nice reflection.

I'm a fan of LED lights, Personally I like the brilliant color of LEDs over the slightly yellowish tinge of incandescents.

I especially like the "cool" white ones ... they just look "icy" to me. I think they work really well as "icicle lights."

However, before I put them on my tree I'm waiting for the kind that "twinkle" ... so far the only ones I've seen won't stay set on the same function after they've been turned off. I hate it when part of my tree is "twinkling", but another part is "slow-glow"ing. I like everything to "twinkle" evenly! :)

I forgot to mention in my post that I have LED's on my Christmas tree. We have the large colored lamps and they are great.
