Is it just me, or does anyone else dislike the LED Christmas lights that seem to be everywhere this year? I think that the white ones are the worst because they look more blue than white. Even the multi-colored ones just don't look as Christmas-like to me. It seems like there is just too much blue.

...thank you......that's what I've been saying all along....

I don't care for the blue ones..they are so bright and to me look more purplish. I like the old soft ones.

I agree with you. The white ones definitely have a blue tinge to them.

I still like the regular miniature lights, even if they do take more electricity.

I've seen some white ones that are a softer white and look good. Some colors are fine but many of the blues and purples are not right to me.

I didn't notice.

I got a tree on black friday that I'm pretty sure has LED lights (they're white) and I haven't noticed.

Hm. Maybe I should go turn off the lights in the living room and give it a better look. lol.

I really like the LED lights! We got a string of the large multicolored bulbs to hang up outside, and I love that each individual color really pops- the old multicolored strings read as too red/orange to me. Plus, they use far less electricity than the old school lights. The white really looks icy- regular bulbs look very yellowy to me, but the white LEDs really look white.

The older LEDs were very directional and not as soft. They have improved then and added facets so they are softer to the eye. If you put them side by side they do look brighter.

Soon you will have LED bulbs in your home.

I love the LED lights. I think the colors are prettier than the old lights.

Me too. But no way was I going to pay $13 a box when I can get the same thing, non LED, for $1.99. :thumbsup2

ITA. We had to buy new lights this year, and I decided to be energy saving and bought all LED ones, and I HATE them. They really just look so ugly, more like lamp lights you see on the highway:sad2:

We bought some last year and now we say we have a "Jetsons" tree - they look futuristic to me. I don't really like the look but I'm happy to use less energy.

We have the white LED's my husband really wanted these and I finally gave in. It took a little while but they are growing on me. Really, it's just like the whole regular white lights vs. colored lights....too each their own! I just think it's wonderful that it seems so many more people are decorating in my town this year then in the past!

I converted to LED last year. One of the "tricks" is to get the leds with the facited defuzer on them. They also sell the "warm" look LEDs that are more yellowish.

the hanging "icicle" lights look really good with a white/blue combo.

and if you read the power requirements, you can put almost 10 times more per string without exceeding the maximum power per circuit.

not that I do, but it does lower the power bill a lot when the holiday decorations go up!

My MIL made the mistake of buying snowflakes made with these lights. The rest of the house is the regular old lights. It looks hiddeous! We told her to take them down before the planes going to Newark Airport get confused and start landing at our house.

Love 'em!

The colors are so clear and true. They really pop.

I'm not a fan of the old yellow-ey lights. I much prefer the blue undertone of an LED clear.

But, to each his own. I can't imagine ever really hating Christmas lights. They're there to make people happy. Even if they're not exactly what you would have done, they still represent a joyful, cheery spirit.

Love my LED Christmas lights. We have hundreds in our yard--we are "festive" :cool1:

And I have the snowflakes someone mentioned upthread. I can see our house sparkling and flashing when we turn the corner. I love my lights, but the question is, "do my neighbors still love me?" ;)

Disclaimer: I love any and all Christmas/holiday decorations from the tasteful and elegant to the flashy and trashy.
