I changed my ADRs for our vacation in December yesterday. The helpful CM made some recommendations for steak and LeCellier was not one of them. When I told him we wanted ADRs there, he said it was a very average restaurant and that all he could get us was 9:00 p.m. I said that was fine, (since I have been reading on the Dis that people really like the food there). He really made a hard sell to go somewhere else. Can anyone tell me, is LeCellier going down hill, or did I just have a very opinionated CM (not that he was rude, very nice and helpful actually).

I've been to Le Cellier twice, once within a year after it opened, and once a couple of years ago, and both times the steaks were disappointing. So I would assume that the CM's experiences are similar to mine, and so I don't think the CM was trying to be anything but helpful.

I've only been to LeCellier once - for lunch in January. It was fine. Nothing special.

We are going back in January '07 and my family is not interested in eating there again. Many people on these boards LOVE LeCellier, but we thought it was just okay.

Uh Oh...I made reservations for nine of us for our February trip...I really hope it hasn't gone hill....We were there a couple of years ago and it was great....and trying to please nine different people isn't pleasant...

I've dined at LeCellier twice over the past year and it's been great both times.

We ate at LeCellier last Oct--it was excellent! We each ordered steak, actually, and it was some of the best I've had! :) We couldn't get ADRs for our last trip in Aug, so I made sure to call early to get them for this Oct trip.

Le Cellier is one of our favorites. We've eaten there many times and always found the food to be excellant.

The last time we were there was this past Christmas and it was the BEST! We are looking very foward to returning next month! Our steaks just melted in your mouth;)

See, I told you. People on these boards LOVE LeCellier. Hopefully, you will have a good experience.

As I said in my earlier post, it was fine. I just didn't think it was special in any way.

We will be dinning there on Sept 13th, and I will let everyone know what I think
:cool1:

I think it's possible that the CM was trying to steer you away from Le Cellier because it has just been mobbed since the DDP came into play. Even if you get the ADR you want, i have heard people still waiting a long time for their table. It's possible that they are trying to lighten the laod for them.

That being said we have ADR's for Le Cellier for an early dinner. We were supposed to go in the past but it always eneded up getting cancelled due to time constraints. So we made it reasonable early so that it would not get dropped this time.

We have ADRs there for our November trip per dh's request. It will be our first time there. We have done Coral Reef in the past and were very disappointed, we won't be going back anytime soon (and we are seafood lovers.) I just think everyone has different tastes and we each need to try things for ourselves.

We have ADR's for Sept 12! We are having an early dinner - 5 pm because that is when we always eat dinner! What is the recommended meal?

We just ate there this past Dec. and thought it was still great, at least as far as the steaks were concerned. We remembered the appetizers (cheddar soup and ceasar salad) being better last time, but our main course was excellent, and the dessert was the best we'd had anywhere. We've tried many of the upscale steak house in the Twin Cities and haven't found as good a filets as we get at Le Cellier. No one will ever all agree, but my guess would be that the hard sell away from Le Cellier is probably because of $$$. Le Cellier has no trouble filling up every night where I imagine some other steakhouses on property (especially since they're in the resorts) have more of a chance of having empty seats :confused3 Just a guess...?

Forgot to add that we also really love the staff here. We had DD, age 2 with us the last time. It was a long wait, even with ADR, and they were so good with her. We brought her DVD player with us for that meal and they sat and watched part of Brother Bear with her and told us trivia about the movie. They were just all a lot of fun and very attentive...

LeCellier was very good in May/June 06 when we went. The steaks were cooked excellent. The flavor was great etc....the other things they had to offer were great as well, the cheese soup, bread sticks. Thats another reason why we went too. If either one of us want steak again, I think we will go to Kona Cafe their steak is excellent also, and it gives the other person a chance to order something other than steak too.

I really enjoyed Le Cellier when DH & I went in May. Was it the BEST filet we ever had? No but it was great, the cheddar cheese soup is very good and it is a very unique experience. I have ADRs for this Nov when I go for a girls' trip and I'm pretty sure my sisters and mom won't be disappointed since they are not really used to anything like it.

I will skimp on some meals but this was the one ADR I will not change.

Hoooooold the phone! LeCellier is the best restaurant on property, bar none!! The service is outstanding and the steaks are the very best Canada has to offer. We routinely eat at LeCellier twice during every visit. Be sure to try the Filet with wild mushroom risotto...mmmmmmmmm!

6 weeks til another trick or treat on Main Street....

I agree with the CM...it's very average. Just slightly better than an Outback or Lonestar/ chain steakhouse.
