Whether you pay out of pocket or use two dining plan credits is this place really worth it?

Just wondering how everyone feels about this restaurant now-a-days. It's been quite a while since I ate here.

In my opinion, best meal on property. Well worth it. We do it every trip

We were there at the end of May and it was well worth the $, IMO. Everything our family ordered was excellent.

We had a far superior meal at the Yachtsman, so for me it was a let-down. I had ordered my steak medium well, and they brought it out well done and burnt on the side. The ambiance leaves something to be desired, as well, since tables are packed so closely together. Not worth the money for us.

We went last trip and it is the first place DW and DMiL wanted to go to on our trip coming up this week. They thought it was the best meal we have ever had at WDW.

We have the dining plan so we are using 2 credits. It works perfectly because one of our nights we paid OOP for Category 1 HDDR so we had an "extra" credit.

I read both sides of the argument, so I guess the worthiness is subjective. For me paying out of pocket, yes it is worth it. I have an ADR there in November that I am very much looking forward to.

Worthiness is absolutely subjective. For me, it isn't worth it. Now, that said, I will say that the food is perfectly good. However, it is nothing special that I cannot get any other day in or around my hometown. The ambiance is also just very normal and typical. For me to pay as much as Le Cellier charges, I want something about it to be extra special (extra fun dining experience, food that is absolutely out of this world is truly exotic, etc.) and Le Cellier, while good, isn't extra special. Not worth the added cost, in my opinion.

Nothing has changed in the past several years as far as the food or service but like all restaurants at WDW the price has gone up. Really can't say if it's "worth it" but to us the cost increases are acceptable.

I've eaten at every signature restaurant on property multiple times. I've eaten at Le Cellier at least 10 times, both before and after it became a "signature" restaurant. While I can't complain about the food itself, the dungeon-like atmosphere and the tables being so close together doesn't warrant it being a "signature" restaurant. You'll have a MUCH better meal at ANY other signature. Less than a 15 minute walk away is Yachtsman steak house. A 20 minute walk away is Shula's steak house (no DDP). 10 minutes away is Chef Paul's. I'd suggest any of these would be a better choice than Le Cellier.

We ate there for the first time during our last trip - never will again. We love the Yatchsman.

The food was great but the tables are crammed in. We were at a table for 2 in the middle of the room. The table next to us was about a foot away. At one point the waiter was between our table and the next one and bent over to do something for the guests at the next table. His backside came within an inch of my very expensive meal. I lost my appetite.

The Yatchsman food is just as good and you are not stacked on top of other guests.

Way, way, way over rated. No way it this a "signature" restaurant. They only price it that way because they can. You'll get much better food, atmosphere and service elsewhere.

"Worth it" questions are almost impossible to get a right answer to about Disney dining. For some folks dining at WDW is the best food in the world and for others, it's, "meh". I'm a take it or leave it person. I don't get excited about dining at Disney as I can find restaurants locally that are better than everything in WDW. Not there are'nt excellent restaurants at WDW. But for fine dining we can pay less for food as good or better than anything in WDW.

For me, the biggest problem with Le Cellier is that there are so many other better places (either OOP or DDP).

For example, I've eaten at all of the Disney-operated signatures (except V&A) and, for my dollar (or dining credit), Le Cellier is at the bottom. While I thought the mushroom filet was more or less signature-worthy, everything else about this dining experience was not.

For example, every Disney-operated resort signature I've been too has provided a superior dining experience, usually significantly better.

And if you want to limit yourself to in-park signatures, I think Monsieur Paul is far superior.

And if you want to limit yourself to Disney-operated steakhouses, I think Yachtsman is far superior (and it's only a short walk or boat ride away from Epcot).

I don't really "get" the whole "Le Cellier's tables are all crammed together" argument, while ignoring the same about The Yachtsman.

Just another Disboards "legend" that simply isn't true. I've never felt that the tables at LC were any closer together than the ones at YS.

We've never had a bad meal at Le Cellier. Never had a bad meal at YS, either, other than they tend to stump their toe on the salt shaker sometimes.

I LOVE it. One of my absolute favorite places to eat. I wouldn't use the DDP, but it's totally worth it paying out of pocket. YUM. And I've never felt cramped or could hear anything that anyone else was talking about.

Those pictures are misleading because of the camera angle distortion. Having been in both multiple times, LC is much more "cozy" than YSH.

Except for those tables over to the right at LC in your picture (and along the walls throughout LC). That's a 2-top, a 4-top, and a 2-top that can be combined to serve 2, 4, 6, or 8 (or odd-numbered groups in this range). The separation when they are a 2-4-2 instead of a grouping for 8 as shown is about 8 inches between tables. We are always a party of two and have never had any 4-top table in LC, so we always end up on top of our neighbors. At YS, we routinely get either 4-top table in the middle of the room or a well-separated 2-top along the side by the windows, so it's much less crowded for us.
