I cant get a reservation here, can anyone tell me another steakhouse or restaurant that sells steak that is almost as good!! We really want LeCellier but I keep looking online and calling and nothing. I am so upset and frustrated! :(

Personally I feel Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club is far better than L'Cellier. L'Cellier is good but imo by no means excellent. The reason why it is always booked is because it is popular (due to alot of hype) and more importantly because it is small. L'Cellier does not hold that many tables as other restaurants.

Keep looking online, people do cancel Le Cellier, believe it or not.

I love the Ribeye steak at Whispering Canyon at WL.
It is very tender and tastes wonderful.

LOL........I usualy eat steak anywhere, for I love my beef. Haven't had a bad steak yet at WDW and have only eaten at LeCellier once.

Most restaurants have a steak on the menu, just depending on what cut of beef you like best as to which restaurant to go to.

I really don't get the thrill of L' Cellier. Like the other pp, i actually refer Yachtsman Steak House over it.

You can keep calling, people cancel for various reasons. We got a reservation there on the day we called. We just took a chance, and someone did cancel so we got in.

I would also suggest Yachtsman. However, if you really want Le Cellier, can you try for lunch? I was just looking around at things for our July vacation and there are lunches open still for Le Cellier.

We have done Yachtsman too and cant get Le Cellier for our upcoming Dec. trip.
I am going to try Shulas for dh. On our trip last month the steaks we liked were at Le Cellier and Kona Cafe.

The steak at Yachtsman is quite good. In fact I'd say the steak at Le Cellier isn't really the draw, it's the sides. Don't get me wrong, the steak is good, but it's the other stuff that makes it can't miss for me. If I was looking for a steakhouse substitute I would pick Yachtsman. It's a little stuffier, but the steaks are really good and it has some other great items. Usually a good cheese plate too.

I've heard that Shula's is terrific but it is not on the DDP, of course.

How about Kona?

For two credits: California Grill, or others have mentioned Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Thanks so much for all the responses!! I was able to get a reservation for lunch so we are going to try it. We have never been but from seeing pics of the dessert I am very excited!! :)

Personally, Le Cellier is probably near the bottom of steakhouses on WDW property. I think it gets so much hype because it's in a park and the cheddar soup is great. That's one of my problems with it, when I go to a steak house I don't want the soup to be the best thing on the menu. but that's just me.

Anyway,
My order would go
1) Shulas
2) Yachtsman
3) Portebellos for their filet mignon over mushrooms
4) Le Cellier

I feel your pain, I called exactly 180 days out for our trip Dec. 4-11, and they did not have 1 seating at Le Cellier for any day/ time. I am so bummed, I love their salmon! Biergarten was our maybe (I like it, but DBF is hesitant about sitting with other people) so we're going there instead.

Anyone know if Canada has a cs? I thought I remember a cs serving the soup, it may have been during the food and wine festival though.

two things:

always keep trying. I was poking around last night on the ADR system (I want to make an ADR at Hacienda for November so I keep checking to see when they hit the system) and saw something for dinner at Le Cellier. They do open up.

They may well be holding back reservations for November/December so that there is availability when the Candlelight Processional packages go on sale (assuming they decide to offer them this year).

The thing about Le Cellier is that its one credit on the dining plan. There are plenty of restaurants at Disney that serve better steak, but the best steaks will cost you two credits (Yachtsman, Jiko and Flying Fish all serve a very good steak) or cost you out of pocket (Shulas, or for a really good steak drive into Orlando where there are a number of good steak houses).

If you want to stick to one credit, Teppenyaki does a nice teppan style steak I understand that Coral Reef serves a pretty nice steak. Kona's isn't bad. Most Disney restuarants have "a steak" on the menu.

Yachtsman is wonderful. It counts as 2 credits on the dining plan, but totally worth it.
