DH and I were planning on LeCellier, then noticed the menu changes, but then decided to stick with it anyways. However, our trip changed from December to September and I wasn't able to make dining reservations when they were first available, so some of my choices aren't available.

We are doing free dining and decided Yachtman Steakhouse sounded good. I am hesitant about using two table services for one dinner. Is it that good? I'm not worried about the food as much as I am the dress code. When we thought about it for December, it seemed okay because the weather would be cooler. However, our reservation is for September 12 at 6:05pm. Can we wear shorts? The lady on the phone said "dress shorts" but my DH only wears tennis shoes with shorts, is that going to be a problem? He'd be wearing a polo shirt and be well groomed, for what that is worth. As for me, I can wear capris and sandals, would be be more comfortable in shorts and possible tennis shoes. Any experiences in the dress code?

I have booked the Yachtman's Steakhouse for our September trip. This is what they told me>>>"Yachtsman Steakhouse adheres to a specific dress code. Items NOT permitted in the dining room include:
tank tops, swim wear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing."

It sound like y'all will be okay. As what you are wearing I will be wearing shorts & nice top & nice sneakers. I asked when making the ADR & was told it would be fine as long as no cut off jeans, flip flops, or character type T shirts.:cool1:

I think you and your husband will both be fine wearing shorts! As long as there are no torn or cut-off clothing items, you'll fit in fine. I've noticed that some people at the Yachtsman do tend to dress up more than at other signature restaurants, but I have definitely seen people wearing shorts, polo tees, and sneakers (I believe that's what my brother has worn :thumbsup2). And I think the Yachtsman is definitely worth the 2 TS credits! :goodvibes

We went to the Yachtsman earlier this month, there are a ton of pics and review on my signature. DH wore jeans, polo and sneakers. I wore a black skirt, tee and flip flops, we felt more dressed than alot of others there.

You'll be fine in those clothes - esp that time of year, that early in the evening.

I think Yachtsman is 10 levels above LeCellier in quality, service, and atmosphere personally so I don't think you'll be disappointed - esp if you like a quality cut of steak.

YUM!

Shorts are perfectly fine! They would "prefer" that attire, but honestly, I've seen it all there.

Yachtsman is one of my favorite restaurants in the Whole World (not just WDW). While I love LeCellier also, there is no comparing the 2. Yachtsman would be worth 3 credits to us. It is simply OUTSTANDING in every way shape and form. Don't be afraid..and don't tell anybody else; we're always able to get into Yachtsman-don't want the word getting out;)

Personally, I think Le Cellier is overrated. Even with ADRs we've always had to wait at least 30 minutes for a table and the tables are too close together. Yachtsman was great! Better service, better food. I didn't really think it was that dressy....there was a wide range of attire when I went. From shorts & tshirts to dresses and sport jackets.

The dress code exists just so you don't go in looking like a slob, or like you just came from the pool. Like other posters have said, the clothing you've described sounds perfectly fine.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is one of our very favorite restaurants, and Le Cellier honestly *cannot* compare. Ask for a table by the window - the view of SAB is lovely!
