Lebron James or Michael Jordan

LEBRON JAMES!

WHO IS LEBRON JAMES!?

He is number 23 on the Cleveland Cavaliers! Obviously I'm his biggest fan......

Ok.....clearly I'm not...

But my little brother is...this is what he has to say:

"Lebron James is better because he improves all the time and teaches other teammates what his skills are so they know when to pass to him. When he's getting double teamed by two guards, he's so tall that he can just shoot the three pointer. And if he's being double teamed by two players that are wings, he can pass them with his speed or make a deadly pass to his teammates. On one of his first games, he scored 56 points, the youngest player ever to score even at least 50. His great moves are shooting threes, fall aways, because they're hard to defend against. I should know, because I watch him all the time. He even has his own commercial, beating the buzzer off the dribble in two seconds. In the 2006 playoffs, his first game against the Washington Wizards, he scored a 'triple double': 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. That's hard to beat. SO BEAT THAT! HA!"

That's right kiddies, my little brother, at age 10, just spit all that information out...

Told you he was the biggest fan :)

I'm not saying LeBron couldn't be better than Jordan, I'm just saying he hasn't REALLY proven that he is yet.

Well... Jordan is a favorite of mine. Lebron James has potential. Jordan proved his potential. James is young. Uhhhh... Since I've met MJ, JORDAN!!!

I support that...

Still gotta support LeBron for the little bro tho :woohoo:

I say MJ because he proved to all of us that even after his prime he could still play in the NBA. But if Lebron had a descent team like MJ did to support him he probably would have a chance in the Finals.

MJ is probably STILL better than like 85% of the NBA.

Jordan had an awsome team around him. One thing that helped.

Sorry for getting involved, since I am not a teen but I saw the topic on the main board and had to interject.

MJ did not have a great team around him, HE MADE THOSE PLAYERS look GREAT. That is one thing that players like KOBE will never do. Last year when kobe was hurt his teammates stepped it up and started playing better, when kobe got better and returned those players started playing worse.

MJ played with one sure Hall of Famer, and Pippen would never have been as good as he was if Jordan was not getting double and triple teamed. Remember when Jordan took time off to play Baseball?? That team that you guys call good showed its true colors, and Pippen had a rough time being the main goto guy.

Next is Rodman who should be in the Hall but the voters will punnish him for his behavior and he only played with Jordan for like 2 years. AFTER THAT they were all bums that looked good on film because Jordan was making them look good.

After those two name one Sure thing allstar, YOU CAN NOT because they were not really any good.

Lebron may end up with more points and trophies(doubtfull), but he will never be as good in my book until he starts making players around him into superstars. Very Few did this, but to name a few.
Larry Bird
Magic
Shaq(dont laugh), he made Penny a superstar and when he left Pennys career did too. He made KOBE the man he is today and now look at WADE.
You guys get the picture.

I could argue this but it would take me too long.

~EDIT~

Meh I decided too anyway.

So your telling me the Bulls wern't a good team without Jordan? So your telling me that the likes of Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr, Horace Grant, B. J. Armstrong, were not good players unless they were playing with Jordan?

...and on to the Kobe comment. Maybe you've forgotten that the season Kobe was hurt, the team actually had a worse record than this past year? Granted, they wern't anything special this past year, but you honestly can't expect much from that roster. Other than Kobe, and maybe Lamar Odom, that roster stinks.

MJ played with one sure Hall of Famer, and Pippen would never have been as good as he was if Jordan was not getting double and triple teamed. Remember when Jordan took time off to play Baseball?? Yes, I remember when Jordan went to play baseball. I also remember the Bulls didn't do too bad without him. Your talking like they just suddenly went in the crapper, when they won 55 games, (better than the following year with Jordan), and made it into the second round of the playoffs, and took a good Knicks team to seven games. :confused3

Also, your also talking like Pippen had a tough year. Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but he didn't. In fact he had a tremendous season. He ranked eighth in the league in scoring, 23rd in rebounding, 19th in assists, and second in steals. He also was the All-Star game MVP that year, and he was the leading vote-getter for both the All-NBA First Team and the NBA All-Defensive First Team. So if that's having a rough time... :confused3

Next is Rodman who should be in the Hall but the voters will punnish him for his behavior and he only played with Jordan for like 2 years. AFTER THAT they were all bums that looked good on film because Jordan was making them look good.
I don't have anything to say about this other than the very last part. Rodman should be in the Hall. He was good with or without Jordan. He was good in Detroit, he was good in San Antonio, and he was good in Chicago.

But as I've said, that team wasn't crap without Jordan. :confused3

I said everyone except Pippen and Rodman...
Kerr and Armstrong, that is funny :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

He left and they went from being 3 time champs to 2nd place in the division(with 55 wins). And the following year after that they won 47 and took third I believe. They were pretty much a losing team till Jordan came back I think sometime in March or they would not have won those 47.

No bubble to be burst, I said he was a Hall of famer, To say he did not benifit from Jordan taking the best defensive player(sometimes the best 2) the opposition had for most of his career is... well nevermind.

You mention Pippens stats the following year, But I guess I am the only one to remember how he refused to play the last seconds of that playoff game vs the KNICKS because Phil wanted Kukoc to take the shot. Some leader :confused3 OH and Kukoc sunk it.

That is what I call rough time

Yes Rodman should be in the HALL, but fans dont vote.
He was Great with the Pistons and BULLS, but with the Spurs he was a failure.

Bottom line I guess it is all perception, I was a huge Bulls fan but I always thought Pippen was a BIG WUSS even when we were winning. He always had great numbers when there was no pressure, but if there was any pressure you gave players like Paxson/BJ/Kerr/Kukoc/etc the shot over Pippen. Defensive he was a stud and like I said he IS a hall of famer.

I would love to have Steve Kerr in his prime on my roster. The man could hit 3's. Armstrong, meh...but that still leaves Horace Grant, and Toni Kukoc.

So you are saying he makes players around him better?????
That was the point.
No I'm saying the players around him suck so bad that even if he was making them better it wouldn't be too big of a difference. I mean, you could put any great player in history on that roster, Kobe, Magic, MJ, Shaq, Bird, Chamberlan, anybody, along with those other players, and they arn't going to do much. The same idea works with other sports too. Look at the other team in Chicago, the Blackhawks. They've got Nikolai Khabibulin, and yet they are still terrible. It takes more than one good player to make a good team.

He left and they went from being 3 time champs to 2nd place in the division(with 55 wins). And the following year after that they won 47 and took third I believe. They were pretty much a losing team till Jordan came back I think sometime in March or they would not have won those 47.
A losing team finishes below .500. The year without Jordan, they won 55 games. Very good actually. Also don't forget they year before they won 57. So like I'm saying, it's not like they suddenly fell off a cliff. Granted, the following year they wern't much, but they were a .500 team. Not bad, and yes, Jordan coming back elevated them. However, don't forget that they also lost in the second round of the playoffs that year.

No bubble to be burst, I said he was a Hall of famer, To say he did not benifit from Jordan taking the best defensive player(sometimes the best 2) the opposition had for most of his career is... well nevermind.
I never said he wasn't a hall of famer. I never said he didn't bennefit from Jordan being there. You were the one saying he struggled, and I said he didn't do bad at all. :confused3

Yes Rodman should be in the HALL, but fans dont vote.
He was Great with the Pistons and BULLS, but with the Spurs he was a failure.
Rodman was getting stats in San Antonio compareable to his last two years in Detroit. Not exactly a failure.

I will agree with you however, that Pippen was a wuss. Still doesn't make him a bad player though.

Michael Jordan...Lebron gets so much publicity it drives me crazy. Not to mention when the CAVES won against the Pistons...it wasn't the CAVES who won it was LEBRON...That got annoying REAL fast!
Taylor*

IMHO there both great players but Michael Jordan is still better just because hes been around longer and came back after retirment and still did great (not as good as before but still...) I think that Lebron James has the potential to do great and he still has a long career ahead of him so he might pass Jordan who knows :confused3

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

i like #23!!!!!!! :rolleyes1 :p no, i like lebron but i know jordan is a legend! i agree that lebron IS young and that he has a chance to be as good if not better than jordan! :confused3 i dunno, i still like #23! :rotfl:

oh and no matter what nobody says, my dream job is to play for the pistons!!!!!!!!!!!! so I, yes I will be the next NBA legend!!!!! :rotfl:

sorry, offtopic but just felt like sharing! :confused3

Hey, umm, yeah....... you're forgetting the best player in the NBA currently. His name is

KOBE BRYANT

I'd take him over Lebron anyday.

The argument that lebron makes people better is false. his team is better, because the individual players are better.

The media is unfair to Kobe. If he doesn't shoot, he isn't trying hard enough to win. If he does shoot, he is a ball hog.

Kobe Bryant is my answer.
