Does anyone know what the process is to leave you car parked at JFK when you go away and how much it would cost to leave it at the airport for 13 days.
I don't know exactly how much, but last time I checked, it was ridiculously expensive. I think there's a decent hotel nearby that will allow you to park your car there long term for a fee, and it has security.
If you live near railroad transportation that can get you to Jamaica station you can take the Air Train from there to JFK. I have a friend who used it & loved it. I wouldn't want to leave my car at the airport. If you live on Long Island you can use Classic Van share ride, depending on how many people your group is, it might be less expensive than paying to park your car.
We are using Avistar secure off-site parking...they shuttle you to and from the airport and have the car all warmed up and ready for you when you get back We are using them for 7 days and there is a coupon on the website so that we are only paying $89.95, which I believe is cheaper than the airport itself.
I used Avistar when I flew out of JFK this summer. It wasn't that bad. I think I found a coupon on the Jet Blue website.
My DS has used the LIRR/Air train connection and he said it wasn't bad at all.

I went on their website and got the offered coupon and reserved a space...then yesterday, we received Valpak(various coupons) and lo and behold...there was a coupon in there for $89! Thanks Guys! I didn't realize that LGDs long term parking was slim to nothing!!!!
Actually it might be cheaper to just sell your car and buy a new one when you get home than to leave it parked on site at JFK for 13 days!! Sorry...just made me chuckle!!
