This board helped me plan the perfect 1st trip to WDW & if there is a better place to put this thread mods go ahead. We stayed @ POR for 8 days myself, twin boys 13 & ds9. We were sprinkled w/pixie dust when we found out we were upgraded to a Royal Room. We are "TEAM ROPE DROP" we did MK RD on Memorial Day... By 12noon we rode the 3 MTN roller coasters, and every other thing we really wanted to do in those areas. We even managed dole whips. At 1pm we went to Floridian Cafe, I was hesitant because of the boy factor, but we did it and THEY loved it. My youngest hated bring classified as a kid but at the floridian they treated him like An adult. The food was fantastic! We stayed @ MK till Wishes & my boys loved it. I often asked if they wanted to go back to rest, but nope they didn't. I won't give a day by day review... But I will say EPCOT was not as smooth, my boys loved it, YES, but we came a bit after opening and I had no plan. We did all the headliners and visited some of world showcase but not every country (next time). Garden Grill ROCKS... But definately get a table on the 1st floor (we didn't & I should've requested it). DHS was my ds9 favorite park! The rides all my boys loved (I sat em out). 50's PT our server went thru the motions, but my boys liked it. I thought SCI-FI was great... Burgers were fantastic! We had a resort day when my boys discovered the pole fishing! And they love it (they r doing it right now on our last day). HDDR was a high-lite! We sat in the center (sec A) so we got alot of attention! The crowd went wild when my son said we were from Boston & they sang a funny song about my 13 yr old, the food was salty but we are everything. We had a typhoon lagoon/disney quest day. My boys loved it... But I must say I am not a gamer so I was counting the minutes to leave DQ. We saved AK for last full day. I love AK. But, we needed to leave after 4 hours to get ready for Ohana's plus I wanted to do some laundry. Next time I will plan to do AK @ the beginning of our trip. It's so beautiful (and HOT). **** we were on the dining plan, I made ADR for almost every day & highly recommend it****** our favorite QS was absolutely @ our hotel POR! Any questions about anything I would love to help!!

Sounds like an amazing trip:thumbsup2

First timer here, so a few questions??

*Why the 1st floor at the Garden Grill? I have an ADR there as well.

*Do you think DQ is suitable for a 3 yr old? I have a 6 yr old, but I think he would be fine.

*What ADR'S did you do, and how were they?

Thanks, and sorry so many questions.

;)

I would say the OPs fave QS was the foodcourt at the resort... and having stayed at POR, I have to agree! they have a great foodcourt w/lots of choices... we especially love the made to order pasta with all the various add-ins!

Glad to hear your trip was great! Very happy to hear such great things abut PoR. My DH and I are staying there for our honeymoon in three weeks! Safe travels home.

First floor has a much better view of the scenery as the restaurant rotates... I recommend it!

No! We tried to take our 2.5yo there and it was *torture*! There was really nothing he could participate in, he drove my older kids crazy and was obsessed with going up and down a scary staircase! I had to leave after half an hour and go elsewhere with him while dh stayed w/the older kids. I would say 6 is a good age to start... of course, ymmv!

*What ADR'S did you do, and how were they?

Enjoy your day!

Hi!!!! Congrats on your WDW trip! As you know it was our 1st time too and so overwhelming to plan!!!!! Let them know @ checkin it's ur 1st time & u will all get special buttons to wear :) a pp gave the exact answer I would have as to 1st floor GG... The view (this is a must)! Honestly, DQ was not suitable for me 39yr old female... I will have nightmares forever (kidding) but my boys loved & will do it again... For your young kids I think it's skippable, but maybe someone else will have better thoughts?!?
ADR'S: Raglan Road (it was fine) most ppl love it, my ds got some brown lettuce & he is so picky anyway, the food was okay. Ds13 loved it! Fish & chips was yummy. Floridian Cafe was excellent! Great break from MK, great food! Ds 13 got fish of the day & is still talking about it. HDDR everyone loves the show!!! Would do it again! Garden Grill fantastic character interaction! Best pictures! 50's prime time my boys liked it, they enjoyed the food (ate everything) I had Caesar salad and it was good. Not crazy about the server but I've heard people have great dealings w/them... Mine went thru the motions. Sci-fi awesome burgers & cool and quiet! OHANAS.... I am still stuffed!!!!! Tasty yummy food! ****please ask anything you want!!!! Everyone on this board really helped me alot! Have fun!
