:car:Hi. Is there a best way to leave WDW by car? We drove out once heading to Wisconsin and took I75 North. In was a Saturday and the traffic was very slow/stop start for hours. Is there a better route?

Thanks!

The only other way I can think of is taking I-4 over to I-95, and go north that way. But it's a long way around to Wisconsin. You'd go 4-95-26 (pick up I-26 in SC), 40 (Ashville, NC), 75 (Knoxville), 74 (Cincinnati), 65 (Indianapolis)...from there, you probably can get home.

Most of the time, I-75 north in Florida isn't a problem. You said you left on a Saturday? Could it have been a day that the University of Florida Gators was playing a home football game in Gainesville? Or the Atlanta Braves was playing a night game at Turner Field? Or both?

No ... heading in that direction, I75 is typically easier to negotiate than slogging back through Orlando and over to the Space Coast on I4, because that's one of the most likely to bog down interstates in the whole country.

I'd say the previous poster is correct. 75 will sometimes back up for local construction or for UF football games. Other than that it's really more reliably clear than either I4 or I95.

Agreed. You must have hit it when something was going on.
Could have even been a bad accident that took a long time to clear up, and traffic backed up in the meantime.

There is always the chance for backups on any interstate, due to a variety of possible factors.

I would stick with 75.
95 would be a long way out of the way.

Thanks everyone! Maybe there was something going on.
We'll try again I75.

leaving Disney ... how did you get to 75?

Did you take 4 west (and south) to Tampa? or the Turnpike? or 50?

it makes a difference . . .
