We are leaving tomorrow for our 1st trip as DVC owners at OKW. We stayed there in 2001 on rented points to decide if we should buy. We will probably eat a dinner at Olivia's. Any suggestions?
Have not had dinner here, but the cuban sandwich at lunch was FANTASTIC and like the pervious poster mentioned, breakfast was also incredible. I had a "build your own" omelette that was to die for. Oh yes and the cheesy potatoes.
We had dinner there three times for our fifteen night trip in June. We love OKW by the way. Anyhow, I loved their Caribbean bbq grouper, it was wonderful, and it came with these mashed sweet potatoes. Over a month later and I still can taste that! Dh got the steak, it was also wonderful, it had some sort of mushroom sauce that made it very good, and it was tender and cooked perfectly. He got that all three times we ate there! And the Olivia's potatoes were very delicious that came with the stak. For dessert, I enjoyed the Key Lime tart thing and the fresh berries.
I didn't enjoy the Mahi Mahi as much as the grouper. It was good but not excellent. Just by my taste buds of course! Which is why I went back to my orginal grouper the last time we ate there.
Olivia's was one of our highlights for our meals on the DDP. That and Turf Club. At Olivia's the atmosphere is so homey. Many of the cm's have clearly worked there a long time and many of the patrons are repeat guests. They have this photo wall of guest families by the restroom, it just felt like a neighborhood place. Not fancy but really good food. Can't wait to go back next year!
