Leaving tomorrow - Tipping valets?

Just a quick question, and I apologise in advance if this has been asked 100 times before

Am I right in thinking that if you pay the extra few dollars for valet parking at Universal Studios you don't have that HUGE walk between the car parks and the gates?

Also, if you do use the valet parking, what is a customary tip?

Valet parking is around $14. Regular parking is $8. AP holders get free regular parking and 50% off valet. I usually tip a few dollars like $3, depending on service.
