I know I was just there but I had a few last minute questions that I don't know the answers to?

1) We have to buy one day CA ticket for the Grandparents (last minute) what time do the ticket booths open?

2) What is that spinning roller coaster back there in CA? Is it fun? A waste of time? When is the best time to ride it?

3) Is Grizzly rapids fast pass really disconnected from the others? In otherwords I could get a Soarin' FP...ride it...then go and get a Grizzly Rapids before the Soarin' time to ride?

Thanks in advance :)

I am not sure what time the ticket booths open, but I would imagine its pretty early, before the parks open. Since DCA generally opens a couple of hours past DL, you can certainly find an open ticket booth before DCA opens the gates. Which is 30 minutes before park opening at which point Soarin will be open (the only thing open).

The rollercoaster that goes upside down in the Mickey head is California Screamin. Its a very fun coaster, smooth and fast and tame by today's standards (vs. the ones at Six Flags for example). It currently does not open until 1:00 p.m. each day since there is construction back there for the new MIdway Mania ride they are building. It gets very crowded at first when it opens, I usually got a fastpass at some point and rode later. Its lines generally went down in the evenings as most people were getting ready for the Electical Parade. We rode it at around 8:30 our last night a couple of weeks ago, the standby was 25 minutes (we had a fp however). I say its very worth it, I love riding at night in particular.

Grizzly's fastpass system is disconnected from the others at DCA. So yes, you can get a fp for Soarin, then immediately head to GRR to get another one. Also be aware that the fp machines at Disneyland are not connect to the ones at DCA. Meaning you can hold fp's for both parks. Also the fastpass machine for Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin in Toontown at DL is not connect to any of the fp machines at DL.

Have a fun trip!

It sounds like the OP is going during the week, so this probably doesn't apply. However, I did want to clarify that Screamin is open during regular DCA park hours on the weekends. It is only the 1 pm start time schedule on weekdays.

Thanks so much for your helpful tips. I know about screamin' but there's that smaller spinning coaster further over to the right. I always see it but never get back there...do you know what that is?

Ahh, you're talking about Mullholland Madness. Its okay, you do spin a bit, (more like a lurch really since you don't go all the way around) and it sort of hurts when my adult body goes slamming to edge of my seat or into dh! But its cute enough. Not worth more than a fifteen minute wait and not worth uisng up a fastpass that is better used for Screamin or Soarin IMHO. However, the lines are seldom that long. The ride is pretty short. Its very, very jerky, not smooth like Screamin.

If you have been to WDW its very similar to the Primevil Whirl coaster at AK. Except the cars are standard and seat two as opposed to a semi circular car that seats four.

No idea Screamin opened earlier on the weekends, makes sense since the workers for Midway Mania are probably off.

I agree with Amy & Dan's opinion of Mullholland Madness. It's a good, not great ride. Also it gave Mrs. Hound the creeps when it rounded the corners...she thought we'd be flung airborne towards those jumping jellyfishes. :scared:

& yes the Griz was disconnected. We did the Soarin' - Griz "two step" FP grab several times on our 3 day visit. :thumbsup2

I think the ticket booths open around 1/2 hour before opening (or before EE opening)

I'm also not a big fan of Mulholland Madness. It's OK, but not big fun.
