try 3mg of melatonin. Very safe. you can pick that up at any CVS or vitamin store. Won't put you to sleep. It will just "mellow" you out some. I know it works for me after a long day of work and the kids.
as for the trip, I created a very detailed itinery which served two purposes. First it detailed the trip and everything I needed. Second, it took so much time to create the itinerary that there was little time to actually spend stressing
