leaving tomorrow and DH & I are sick

I cannot believe this. We both have a stomach virus along with the typical chills, headache and nausea. We were supposed to drive to St. Louis today (approx. 3 hours from our home) and catch a direct flight tomorrow to Orlando. We are way to sick to sit in a car for 3 hours. ugh I hope this passes soon. I don't want our vacation to be ruined. Please convince me this is only a 24 hour bug

It's our first family trip and we have been so excited. What a bummer. okay gotta run to the bathroom now....

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, but please don't get on a plane if you are still sick and expose all those other people to your illness. Sometimes the carriers will work with you to postpone for a day or two if you are ill with an obviously contagious bug, call them and ask.

I am sure it will pass, a tummy virus is really spreading around these days YIKES!! My 5 yo got over hers Saturday...she was so sick I said "do you feel well enough to go to Disney?" She said with big teary blue eyes, "well, no actually...good thing we don't leave til Wednesday!!"



Hope the kiddos don't come down with it...yuck!!!

Usually stomach viruses are the 24hr kind. Sure hope you feel better. That is a major bummer to be sick on your way to disney!! Stay on liquids till things settle down. Good luck.

Have you tried Pepto Bismal?

It has an ingredient no other stomach remedy for diarhea has.

I take it in tablet form and it is ALWAYS with me on trips for work or play...

It has reversed some really bad runs I had contracted, mostly on international trips where I've eaten something bad...

Give it a try if you haven't...

The pepto is helping. I finally tried that about 3 hours ago. Still feeling yucky but not as bad. DH is doing much better! I am counting on this being a 24 hour thing. No fever so I think that is a good sign...I also hope my little babes don't get it. I would be sick for a week to keep them from feeling like this for one hour!

Thanks for the good vibes and thanks for letting me vent. Who else but you Mickey fanatics would understand??

Feel better - stomach bugs are usually short-lived, so hopefully you'll be better today. Think of it as a quick pre-Disney weight loss program. Sick, I know, but you've always got to look for the positive.

Stay hydrated, gatorade is great. I know doctors recommend things like Pedialyte, but gag me! They are so salty that no one at my house can get them down. Saltines are good, especially if your stomach is gurgling. Jell-o, toast, etc. Hydration is most important though, much more than food. Hope you're better by the time you read this.

Oh, I am SOOOO glad to hear you were all better for your trip! It seems like just yesturday you said you were sick. I cannot believe you are back already! I am looking forward to hearing about your trip.
