Going with our 2 kiddos. DD6 and DS 2 - what do I absolutely need to remember to pack? We've gone a couple of times before with the kids, so we know the "routine." But what are some of the weird items you wished you had remembered? Thanks :earsboy:

not really kid-related but cell phone chargers. By the end of one of our trips we both had dead phones and our daughter who did not go with us could not contact us. No major emergency but it is important for us to have our phones on vacation.

Sunscreen...forgot ours one time and it is not cheap in the resort shops. :sunny:

Thanks for the reply :wave2: My husband and I just traveled this last week and he remembered his charger but I did not. And it was very frustrating! :) Have a great trip!

Sorry off topic...viluvsdisney:I sent you a PM a few days ago...did you get it?

Thanks! :flower:

Solarcaine. When we went 9 yrs ago I got sunburned even though I was wearing sunscreen, just not used to the Florida sun. My husband had to go resort hopping to look for Solarcaine in all the shops while I laid at the hotel with cold towels on my back. He found some after a couple hours of searching, but I'll be taking some with us this year!

If you are flying, remember to pack any prescription meds in your carry-on in case there is a luggage problem. That happened to me twice before I learned my lesson. I'd also bring a second form of i.d. if you have it- packed separately from your driver's license. Just heard a story of a woman whose wallet got stolen while on a business trip and her husband (luckily at home, not with her) had to fedex her passport cause she couldn't get on a flight back without id! Can you tell I'm a worrywort?

OK--I am a bit of a germaphobe. I find the sample size cans of Lysol and spray down the surfaces before we unpack. Crazy? Yes. But we haven't gotten sick since we started doing this, and someone in our family always did before. Now I have to knock on wood for our next trip (in 6 days). Germaphobic and superstitious. ;)

That's a great suggestion. Our little guy got croup last time at the very end of the trip. We had to delay our flight home until he was doing better - so we take all the "germ" help we can get! ;)

I thought it was just me! I've never found a sample size so I end up bringing a regular size Lysol spray (which is a total pain to pack in the suitcase!).

I love the purse size sanitizing hand gel. We can't live without that stuff. Kids touch EVERYTHING.

Sunscreen is also an impt. item not to forget. One year we thought we forgot ours and I was cringing at the thought of paying the jacked up prices (even at the nearby WinnDixie it isn't cheap). Luckily, last minute I found where I had stuffed it. Whew!

One last thing - a travel first aid kit with bandages, guaze, tape, neorsporin, bug bite spray, tylenol, motrin, etc., etc. Mostly sample sizes so it can fit in a backpack/purse just in case you get a boo boo while you're out. I know the parks have first aid stations - but do you REALLY want to walk with a boo boo all the way to the front the park? Not me.

I've been having nightmares that I forgot to pack things....I really need to get a life!
