I haven't posted much here, but read lots.

We will be arriving at Fort Wilderness on Saturday and staying for a week. We were originally going to leave tomorrow, but decided to leave tonight as soon as my dad comes and picks up the dog.

We are driving from Pittsburgh PA and my GPS says that it will take 16 1/2 hours. By leaving tonight, we will be able to cut down on the driving each day. Hoping to drive 7 hours tonight and just stop at a truck stop, climb into the fifth wheel and sleep. Maybe drive another 7 hours tomorrow (get pretty close to Disney) and then check into a campground somewhere along the way and spend the afternoon/evening there then get up Saturday morning and only have a few hours left to drive.

We are so excited. It is me and dh (both 37) who were at Disney back in 1994, and our two kids - a girl (who is almost 8) and a boy (who is almost 4). We are looking forward to getting there and having a great time.

How are the crowds right now?

Kristin

Crowds are below average right now, so it shouldn't be too bad. It's still summer, so they'll be higher than normal, but it's nothing like it's been the last few years.

Sounds like you guys are going to have a blast, have fun!!

We leave Saturday for our Disney cruise then we are at The Fort for a week. Friday is going to be such a looong day. I hope the crowds stay low. Have fun on your trip, I know we will.

Have a great trip !! If you are coming down I-75 there is a good place to overnight called the Oaks and Pines in Lake City, FL. It's about 3 hours to FW from there, depending on traffic. Nothing fancy but it's close to the freeway, clean and they have level, pull through sites.

Like you I don't post much but love reading all the good info here.

We were at the fort 7/20-7/24 it was empty. Kinda scary never seen it like that before. They did have loop 2000 closed for refurb that is going on. There were also few loops that had maybe 8-10 campers on them.

We didn't go to any Disney parks so can't comment on the crowds. We did go to Sea World it wasn't too bad about 30 minute wait for attractions.

I hope you have a safe trip and a great time at the fort.

Looks like you arrived the day we left. We had come in on Thursday the 18th. It was empty then. As usual it filled up for the weekend.

Yea, even during the summer it can be slow during the week, now if it was like that on a weekend, ouch.
