We leave on Fri for 10 days and we are going to Universal for 2 nights and then on over to Disney. In the past, we have done Disney only. I feel a little bummed that we are spending 3 days of our "Disney vacation" at Universal. Has anyone else felt this way and still really enjoyed Universal? My DH really wanted to try Universal this time around. I'm hoping that we do enjoy it and not wish we had just went to Disney only.

I think it is great that you are expanding your horizons. The two Universal parks have some outstanding attractions. Enjoy yourself and appreciate the Universal parks for what they are. Try not to spend time comparing them to the Disney parks.

You'll be glad you started at Universal. The CMs at Disney are generally so friendly and helpful that it is quite a shock to experience the "real world" after you leave Disney property.

I am starting my vacation next weekend with a visit to Seaworld for Viva La Musica (their Latin festival). Each non-Disney park offers unique experiences not available in Disney World.

I feel greatful there is a vacation destination where so many wonderful attractions are so close to one another.

Enjoy your new found spirit of adventure and have a great time!

I always have enjoyed Universal, there are a lot of great attractions. i haven't been to IOA yet but will do that when my kids get a little taller. As long as we have a week at Disney any extra days are spent off property. This year we are doing Sea World after 8 days at Disney.

I know how you feel but you will love USF and Islands of Adventure. I know I do and then you get to end your trip with the magic. You're going to have a great time.

USF and IOA are mainly for the rollercoaster which Disney has very few of so if you or your kids like rollercoaster then you will not be regretting it at all and its something more to do then just Disney. I wish I had more time and money to do both.

Personally, although Universal does not beat Disney, we have to go every trip. They have so many neat attractions and the kids actually get it confused with Disney. They want to go on rides that are at Universal not Disney and dont understand. I doubt you'll be sorry. In fact I would think it would be really exciting to have so many new rides and shows to look foward to. Have fun!
