Leaving on Sunday! (I have a few questions)

I'm leaving on Sunday to hang out with a friend in Florida for the week. We are planing on going to a Disney water park while we're there. I think now we are leaning towards Typhoon Lagoon. I have never been to either, what are your thoughts on the parks? I have only been to one water park and I was much younger (8-ish) I need to know what to bring with me and if you have any suggestions from your trips that would be awesome. Thanks guys!
