WE are staying at all star movies and arenot going to parks because we dont have the time but have some questions.
1. What is the best way to get to boardwalk from our hotel and back usinf transportation?
2. What are some good free things to do?
3.What is the best way to get to other hotels from our hotel and back?
4. Is there a place at animal kingdom lodge you can see animals besides the rooms?
5. Can you see illuminations from the boardwalk?
6. What is the best place to watch wishes outside of the park?

Thanks

1. You have to take a bus to a park (or Downtown Disney) then bus to boardwalk. (you could go through epcot to the international gateway and walk, but you have to have a park ticket).
2. Downtown Disney, Boardwalk, resort hop (bus or monorail), hang out at resort.
3. same as #1
4. yes
5. yes
6. Polynesian Beach or Ohana's is great

I could be wrong about this...but I believe that if you take the bus to Downtown Disney..you can catch another bus to any hotel you want to go to...

For numbers 1 and 3, since there is no transportation directly between resorts, you need to go to a park and then take another bus to the resort you want to go to. For the Boardwalk, you would need to go to MGM and then walk or take the boat. For the others, just take the bus to the nearest park and then change buses. Once the parks close, you need to take the bus to downtown disney and change. And downtown disney is a good place to go for free, although once there you will have plenty of places to spend money.
At the AKL there are plenty of places to see the animals, not just fromthe rooms. There are plenty of public spaces.
the best place to watch wishes would be from the contemporary.
seems odd to go without going to a park, but have fun I guess :confused3

:goodvibes To get to the Broadwalk you can take a bus to MGM and then either walk or take a boat to the BW :cool1: :thumbsup2

I will try to answer some of these for you. Others may have some better suggestions for you.
1. Take a bus to MGM and walk/boat over to the Boardwalk. If MGM is closed for the evening, bus to DTD and then to the hotel.
2. Fort Wilderness has some cute things to do for free. Check them out. Also, DTD is free if you are just sightseeing/people watching. If I think of more, I will post.
3. Take the bus to the park closest to where you are going, and switch to the resort bus or monorail (GF, CR, Poly). If the parks are closed, use the DTD connection mentioned in No. 1.
4. I have not been to AKL, but I believe I have read others doing this.
5. Not sure.
6. You can see WISHES from the Contemporary, and maybe also the GF and Poly.

:rotfl2: Im not very good at giving directions but when you get off the bus the boat ramp is to the right I think. Just walk towards the water after leaving the bus

For lots of free things to do at Disney go to MouseSavers.com. They have a whole section on this topic. Lots of great ideas.

To get to any Disney resort the easiest way is from the nearest theme park. If you want to visit the MK resorts (Contemporary, Poly, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge) plan on being in the MK for that part of the day. You can monorail or boat over to all of them except for the WL....need a boat from the MK. You can also walk to the Contemporary from the MK entrance in about seven minutes.
To visit the Epcot resorts of Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan and Dolphin you have two options. You can easily walk to this area via the International Gateway of Epcot, which is near the United Kingdom. You can also take a longer walk (15-20 minutes) from the Disney Studios. You do not have to enter the Studios to get to the Epcot resort area. The Friendship boats run continuous service between the Epcot IG and the Studios. They stop along the route at the Beach/Yacht Clubs, Boardwalk, and Swan/Dolphin.
