I will be at WDW the week between X-mas and New Years. Very busy!!! I wanted to leave the MK for lunch and go to a monorail resort restaurant one day. Should I risk the fact that I may not be able to get back in the MK if it has reached capacity or should I play it safe and just have lunch in the MK? I guess im asking how much of a chance is there for the park to close. Thanks! :sunny:

If you really want to visit MK I wouldn't take the chance and not be able to get back in.

I thought I heard somewhere that if you are staying at a Disney resort, you have guarenteed admission, but if you are staying off site and the park fills to capacity you can not enter.

Has anyone else heard this?

:confused3

You are guaranteed admission to A Park. It may not be the one you want to be at.

I can say for sure that last year on Dec. 27, the Magic Kingdom was closed to all guests. We were there on a non-park day, and had eaten breakfast at Chef Mickey's and then rented water mouse boats from Contemporary. We then just rode the monorail around, and as it went around, they made an announcement that Magic Kingdom was at capacity and closed to guests, and I don't think it even stopped at Magic Kingdom. I would not leave if you want back in.

I plan on making an ADR for New Year's Eve for a late dinner at CRT, but I will not be in the park that day. I am staying at ASMo. Will they let me in the park in the evening if I have an ADR? :confused3

An ADR will not guarantee you admission. You may want to get a feel for how when MK fills on New Year's Eve and make sure that you are there early enough. I wouldn't count on being able to get in just in time for dinner.

Thank you so much for that information! That changes my itinerary significantly. I would have been so disappointed if my New Year's Eve plan fell through. Looks like I will be adding a second day to go to MK. These boards are the best!
