leaving in 9 days, STILL hav'nt planned roadtrip!

Life has been CRAZY to say the least...for us all, I know, but I HAVE to plan and get road hotels etc today! Planned on leaving Sat. the 20th at 2a.m., now neighbors are having a Xmas party that DH wants to attend...7p.m. on the 20th....so now we will be leaving a day later and that cuts our visit time at the Dolphin to 2 nights! I guess I havn't made the travel plans in hope DH sees that a few hours at the party isn't worth it to lose a whole day of the trip, kids are bummed since we aren't going into the parks they wanted to enjoy the hotel, boardwalk, check out resort decor and maybe rent a watermouse etc. O.K. Stress is getting to me, ranting and hi-jacking my own thread about travel plans into griping about DH!
I am not even done Xmas shoppping let alone have it all packed, hidden and ready to roll.....if we hadn't just sunk a ton of $$$ into a van repair, I might seriously pay the outrageous air fare and leave the driving to ATA!

I wanted to take things slow, not too rushed, which is why attending the party now creates a more rushed arrangement. Not to mention the second day of travel will now be a monday, work day w/more traffic as opposed to SAT/SUN travel. It also takes away our "bad weather" cushion...oh well....there are much bigger problems in life, but had we booked a flight I know we wouldn't be postponig it for a few hours. Main objective is to get my folks by Xmas eve, but didn't want to be fried by the time we arrived. Maybe I should just drive the kids and put DH on a flight...he can attend the gathering and meet up w/us later!
Figment ...I could use a little JB calming me down...I think I'll go put a CD in and apply those wise words of wisdom!

Whenever I'm stressed all I need is a little "Tin Cup Chalice" and I feel better. There are some days I just play it over and over. Have a great trip. I wish I were going too.

Does DH actually know how much this is stressing you? If not, let him know and I bet, terrific DH that he is, he'll see the trip as planned is far more important. The neighbors will be there when he returns and there can always be another party.
