I am getting worried after reading about the horrible lines on weekends at F&W on weekends:scared1:. Our trip is Friday-Monday so I mistakenly thought that the weekend would be *better* since there would be more events going on. Our Epcot day happens to fall on Saturday:upsidedow.

We're planning on breakfast at 7:30am at The Wave and then heading directly to Epcot. I'm hoping to do TT, Soarin' and Spaceship Earth before the WS opens. If we still have time, I'd like to head over to BWV and check in to our room. At 3pm we have a culinary demo, followed by a wine demo at 4. We are eating dinner at 8 at the Poly.

So, sometime between 11am and 2:30ish, we will be meandering around WS. As of now, we are planning on "window shopping" the booths. We have no real "must do" things for the afternoon. Well, let me amend that...I must have a Grey Goose slushie...or two! Are we going to be "OK", and by that, I mean are we going to be miserable and packed in like sardines?

Weekends are always busier because of the locals. When we do F&W we go to other parks or stay around the resort on weekends.

I'm sure that you will be fine, just expect some longer lines.

Thanks for the reassurance:hug:. I guess I will treat it the same way that I treat Black Friday:rotfl2:...enjoy the lines as part of the experience:flower3:.

We have been attending food and wine for the past 5 or 6 years as a long weekend so we have no choice but to hit it on Fri/Sat. You just have to make the best of it. Some lines get ridiculously long but honestly, people waiting in line with you have (most likely) been drinking and can be very friendly!! We met so many chatty and interesting people last year while we were in line it was almost the highlight of the trip!! Don't stress over the crowds and enjoy...:hippie:

We will be at F&W 1 week from Sunday (10/16). Surprisingly, my UT app shows a green light for Epcot on Sat 10/15 and yellow light for Sun 10/16. I really don't know how accurate those crowd predictions are. When we have been at F&W in the past, it seems to get busier as the day wears on, so you may be good by touring WS in the first few hours.

Fortunately, we have an entire day of Epcot planned for the Wednesday after we get there, too :cool1:

Have a great time!!

My best advice would be to hit the world showcase as early as you can. The past few years we found that the crowds became very heavy after 6 pm. Hope that helps and have a great time! :)

My #1 rule is avoid the park that has Extra Magic Hours that day, especially the evening hours.

#2 rule is avoid DHS on Fantasmic night (unfortunately). However, absolutely never ever go to DHS on a Fantasmic Night and an Extra Magic Hours night! (ask me How I Know?) :thumbsup2

;) Also in planning this year's Oct trip I realized that there are several days, especially on Friday evenings...where EPCOT is open later than AK or DHS, then MK has a party at 7...so where will everyone be? EPCOT !! But that is OK, I have my ADR at Coral Reef at 5:40 and all is right in the world--I am at WDW !!

I do feel sorry for the people who do not plan. :sad2:

I'll be buying a Grey Goose Slushie too!:thumbsup2

I think it's good that you're eating dinner at the Poly. I find the little bits of food at the booths do not satisfy me as a real meal. Enjoy the grazing at Epcot, and enjoy your dinner. I think you'll be fine.

:cool1: Where do I get the Grey Goose Slushie....I may never leave that area. :worship:

Which is why DH and I do not have alcohol in the house. I do not milk my drinks and if I get a brain freeze that would slow me down a bit....hmmmm.....slushie.....that could be my new try this year.

There's a kiosk in France that serves Grey Goose with lemonade and Grand Marnier with orange "punch" slushies. It's a regular kiosk, not just a part of F&W. The slushies are D-E-licious!!!

By this time next week, I will be at BLT:banana:!

We have found the lunchtime or that mid-afternoon time (around 3pm) to have okay or even short lines at the kiosks. Evenings get really busy on weekdays and packed on weekends.

Perfect:thumbsup2! That is exactly the time we are planning on hitting the booths for some "grazing".

We are going the exact same time as you. And, getting the grey goose slush as well. Day time at F&W is always less crowded than night time. The later it gets, the more crowded it gets. You should be just fine. Check out these pictures:

It has pictures of the booths. I have a little OCD with trip planning and have already mapped out what samples I am using the DDP for and what samples I am paying OOP for. Along with which wines I want to try. On Saturday, we are eating at San Angel Inn for lunch and Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner. I'm getting so excited!!! Oh, and sometime on Saturday we have to head over to BCV to check into our room. Very similar trip for us. ;)
