Leaving in 72 hrs and just dont care

We're planning our trip for next week as well and I'm beginning to get a little nervous about the crowds. But, we've been enough that we know how to manage the fast pass system and the crowds. When I mentioned my concern about the crowds to my sister she said, "I don't care if we sit on main street all day for four days, at least we're at disney." So, that's the attitude we're going with...even a busy day at disney beats staying home!

My friend would probably prefer to sit on Main Street for 4 days, but I am the one who is thinking, "I didn't pay all this money to sit in one spot for hours!" So I usually want to do some things even if not as many things as in the old days.

I have to agree with Cheshiregirl to a point - although I was in DLR on one New Year's Eve/Day holiday once and the crowds were INSANE and SCARY, I don't think I would like to be in DLR if it were completely empty. I have said that to friends who thought I was crazy in the past. I do think you need to have a lot of people around you to stoke your excitement and help build momentum. Plus, it is just fun talking to other people in lines and in restaurants around you. People (most of them) seem to be friendly and want to chat. I don't think Disneyland would have the same 'life' to it if there were no people there. You do kind of need to feed off of other people a little bit. I don't think I would like to endure another New Year's crowd because that was just TOO much, but otherwise, I don't mind reasonable crowds. I mean, it was quite crowded this past weekend when we were there and it could be kind of irritating in some spots but it was okay. It was manageable. I could live with it. And we chatted with all sorts of folks everywhere we stopped - everybody was in a chattin' mood!

I'll be there next week too. I am concerned about crowds also.

But this morning I was just able to book a table of 9 at Ariel's Grotto on Monday - Less than I week out. I am taking that as a good sign.

I also had co-workers go mid-week the past two weeks - and both reported wonderful crowd levels and the best experiences they have had crowd-wise.

I am ignoring the fact we are eating at Ariel's Grotto with one of my daughters' classmates who happens to be going the same time we are...

Try not to let those thoughts ruin your trip! You will be excited once you get there the excitement will come back. Some of my most fun DL trips have been when it is really crowded. It is that old saying "you get out of it what you put into it" :goodvibes

I know how you feel. But i bet when you get there you'll be excited again! Have fun at least you wont be working!

Yea I was just going through the same thing a couple of days ago....After you get on the plane the excitement should return. I'm actually really looking forward to the DL portion of our trip mostly because of the GCH. I can't wait to get out of this hotel here in SD. Not that its a total dive but it is definately > 3*. I guess I'm just more of a room service/bell hop type of traveller rather than a inn/motel/carry your own bags type of traveler!

Well the weekend and monday will be busy the rest of the week should be nice. HAVE A PLAN. Get to the gate 30-40 mins before park open with tickets in hand and start collecting those fast passes. Even if it does get crowded it shouldn't be that bad from open until noonish. By then you can do a LOT.

16 days since we set foot on DL... 2-3 years min. until we can get back there again.... :sad1:

I so envy each and every one of you, for having yet another chance to go - and hope and pray your trips will be as magical as ours was.

:goodvibes

Argh, post repeat, sorry... must have been an important message? LOL! God Bless all of you returning again. :)

I've been feeling the same way. We go next week and I was really excited until just a few days ago. I'm not too worried about the crowds because we'll still make the best of it. It just surprises me that I'm feeling this way because before our other WDW trips, I stayed excited the whole time. For me maybe it's because we already started planning our trip for next year and we're going back to WDW. I'm sure everything will be fine once you get there because I know the excitment for me will return then too.

i enjoy going in october. i went twice last week and the crowd levels wern't bad. i went with my mom on sunday were there for 3 1/2 hours and went on buzz, peterpan, snow white, pinoccio, thunder mountain, splash mountain, haunted man, tower or terror, and grizzley rapids. i also went on wed with my sister and nephews for three hours is was busyier but not bad we saw mickey and goofy twice, and minnie went on a few kiddy rides... october isn't a bad time to go so have fun.:)

Why would it be busy this time of year - it's not bad at the World around now... :confused3

I dont think it will busy be at all!
We went last year and it was beautiful weather and not much in the crowds.

And all year long, there has been a steady decrease of guests.
Even during the summer weekends, they just weren't that packed.

you will see once you get there, the Disney magic will pull you in. LOL

Have a good time!!!

I truly hopes this make you feel better, I posted this on another thread I have to admit after reading the boards it seemed the crowds were going to be insane we have found it to be a true pleasure crowd wise read below:

I have to say we are have been staying in Disneyland since October 7th (tuesday) we find the crowds to be quite manageable. The longest we waited for any attraction was 25 minutes for Toy Story Mania. I think as long as you make it to the rope drop and do the one or two bigger attractions first we have found the rest of the day at the parks here to have been a breeze. The longest posted wait times we saw were 45 minutes for Indiana and Splash Mountain BUT you could just fast pass those and by pass such a long wait. as far as the weather yesterday was warm but not muggy and unbearable tonight you could use a sweatshirt its a little cool..the ten day forecast has weather here posted in the low 70s....In addition, crowds were so low yesterday at DCA that they only had fast pass working for 2 rides, California Screamin and Soarin at the time the post wait times were 35 mins for Soarin and California Screamin was 20 minutes

I also feel if you have more than 3 days here its plenty of time to see EVERYTHING at a more leisurely pace

ENJOY!

I was out at the parks yesterday and I didn't think they were bad at all. Sure some would call it busy, but DLR just doesn't have the super slow times like they used too. So if you are comparing to a rainy day in Feb yes it was crowded, but compared to most times of year it was pretty good.

Most lines were very reasonable and though HMH said 20 minutes I waited about 10 each time. Toy Store got to 40 minutes at a point but that is common. Many rides had almost walk on lines (JC and POTC).

October-Dec are my fav times of year bc the crowds are low. October is never crowded when we go.
