Ugh, our son had a fever last night and is coughing now and I'm sure our daughter will start soon. We're supposed to be leaving on Saturday! I'm so upset right now. I don't know whether I should cancel, we were supposed to be going to Legoland Monday and DL the rest of next week. I'm sure the kids will be better by then, but I take immunosuppressants and tend to get everything. I'm just so bummed out. :sad2:

Oh no! I was going to say that the kids will be better in time and not to worry about it. But then I saw what you said about taking immunosuppressants. What a difficult decision you have to make, I'm so sorry.

I'm sorry! I hope the kids will be ok by the weekend! We leave Sunday. My sister-in-law informed me yesterday that my 3 year old niece was sick with a fever and cough Sunday night. We spent Saturday night with them. My 3 year old daughter started having symptoms last night an hour after going to bed (stuffy nose, coughing/gagging when laying on her back)! I'm stressed and bummed too! I hope whatever it is, it is mild and will be almost gone by Sunday/Monday. I really don't want to cancel our trip! :sad1:

I really hope that our kids get better soon and that neither of us have to cancel. I've been planning this trip for a year, I neeeed to go to Disneyland!

Oh no!! Let's hope it's an fast cold and gone before you know it. Keep them both rested, and yourself, especially. Can you take emergen-C, or whatever that stuff is called? DH and I swear by it whenever either one of us feels like we are coming down with something.

hang in there, hope for the best, and healthy pixie dust coming your way for your whole family!!

Good luck with the both of you. We're leaving Sunday and everyone has a nasty cold in the family, only DD6 has the hacking cough and fever. The way I look at it is, we only cancel if someone is comatose. ;) We're all laying low (doesn't help that we're hosting Thanksgiving) for the rest of the week and drinking lots of fluids, running humidifiers day and night and letting things take their course. Being at Disneyland while under the weather is WAY BETTER than not being at Disneyland at all. (But this is coming from someone who got the chicken pox at Disneyland when I was 16...now that wasn't the greatest.)

Thank you, we're all taking stuff to hopefully make it a short one!

I hope your family is much better by the weekend! We have a twelve hour drive, and I just don't feel comfortable driving like that when we don't feel well. Otherwise, I agree with you. Plus the warm weather would be good for us after the last few weeks of cold and rain here. I have my fingers crossed!

I hope the family feels better soon! If it were me, I'd go. I wouldn't let a cold ruin our trip. Load them up with cold meds and advil (call me a bad parent if you must). I'm sure they would rather be at DL than home in bed.

Throwing up would be another story!

I would recommend Airborne (kids can do half a tablet as their dosage) and Cold Eez lozenges, and acidophilus, as well as rest for everybody (the sick one and the ones trying not to get sick). Basically, do your best to get a mild case of whatever it is your child has.

I'm going to go against the other advice here and say that I wouldn't recommend loading up on Tylenol just to go into the park if you are sick while there. If your body needs rest, then it needs rest and (rest assured) there will be a lot of other sick people at Disneyland and you can easily catch a secondary infection from one of them, and end up in real trouble...

I hope you guys are all better in time!
