I'm SO worried about the packing... I have a tote filled with stuff to bring, lots of empty luggage staring at me and I can't figure out where to begin. :worried:

What did you all forget to pack?

As long as you have your...
swimsuits
clothes for everyday and a few more & more socks
cell phone chargers
camera & batteries
drivers license (not expired! Youll get the runaround at the airport and cant rent a car)
2 pairs of shoes
meds
sunglasses & sunscreen
bath stuff

Your Ready!

Oh yea, as much money as possible!!!

First, take a deep breath! You're not going to Timbuktu (no offense to anyone who might be from there! lol) so if you forget anything really important you will be able to find it there. I am usually an over packer and on our last trip (just last week) I think the only thing I wished I had brought w/me was some laundry soap and a couple of dryer sheets ($1 for two dryer sheets from the vending machine just seemed too steep to me!).

Here's a list for you that covers just about everything under the sun:

You certainly don't need everything on this list but it might help to keep you from overlooking something important.

hth

I packed well except that I should've brought extra washcloths (we're in DVC).
I like to use a new washcloth every time I wash my face.

We did pack too many shoes (brought sneakers & didn't wear them once in 9 days). Only wore our Tevas.

camera battery charger....then we found we did have it, only after we had one fedexed to us. :rotfl:

In the past I have forgotten kid's medicines like Tylenol and socks for me. I remembered to pack everyone else's socks. How these things happen I don't know... I also made it to Florida once without a bathing suit (also for me). I think I just get wrapped up in making sure I have everything for the kids that I don't take enough time to remember to pack my own things.

If your kids are big swimmers-2 or 3 bathing suits is nice to avoid the whole suit still wet issue.
Last time the only things I wished I had packed were aloe for my husband who insists on doing his own sunscreen and ALWAYS forgets the back of his legs;) and more batteries for my suns Leapster ( I had the wrong size)

ABSOLUTELY the best thing I DID pack- were pieces of material to tie around the handle of our strollers at the parks (rental). Saved us and our friends ( who were happy we had extra) so much time looking for strollers after rides, shows etc.

This may seem crazy  but is has happened to us...be sure to pack your underwear  (Go ahead and stick some in the suitcase now!) Also, this time of year you will definitely need sunscreen. Both of these could be purchased at the WalMart in Orlando, it's just that you don't want to have the hassle of having to leave the World. I know if we ever start to venture off Disney property during our vacation, my 3 kids start making gasping sounds and saying in their raspiest voices,

"L-l-l e a v i n g :crazy2: D-D-D i s n e y.... :crazy2: c-c-c a n ' t :crazy2: b-b-b r e a t h e!"

It cracks me up every time! :rotfl2:

pixiedust: Pixie dust to you.

I brought my video camera but didn't bring any new tapes..Yikes. So, I would up with a whopping 13 minutes of video...

I forgot all the kids socks :lmao:

I forgot swimsuits for me and DD. I did remember hubby's though. :sad2:
And, I was so worried about DD's costume and clothes, I totally forgot to pack my shorts. I was horrified!! Thank god I remembered my capri's!! :rotfl2:

Go over what you need in your head, and go slow. I'm sure you'll get everything. Have fun!! :goodvibes

I didn't actually forget to pack anything...but when we were in the airport waiting to board our plane for Orlando, we stopped to get lunch.

I went up to the counter and ordered food for everyone. Everyone except my DD!! To this day, she won't let me live that down. I don't know why I forgot, I guess I just had Disney on the brain, and I just wasn't thinking straight!:rotfl:

Nothing. I made a list and checked it off as things went in the bag. I'm very anal about things like that. Things that couldn't go in until the morning of departure (like cell phone that was charging etc) were written on a post it note and stuck on the garage door where we would see it as we took things out to the car.

meds for the kids -- they usually have them in the resort gift shops but they are $$$$$! I couldn't find children's Tylenol or cold meds for my DS3 and we had to settle for Benedryl. I forgot to put it in our suitcase and tried to carry it on, it was too big and I had to throw it away! YIKES :scared1: Now I pack a travel size bag with all their meds and take it everywhere.

This is something I used to do for my own business travels, make a list! I actually put down # of socks, underwear, type of shirts/pants/skirts(even detailing what colors to take so you don't get that one that only looks good with dark pants). Also have a lot of travel size stuff(hair brushes, etc) that don't get taken out of the bag once we get home.

The list gets pretty detailed with all four of us, but it's a system that has worked for me for years.

Yep, I have to do that too. Especially with 5 of us... or one of us could end up with no clothes! Seriously, I love the master packing list at themouseforless.com (talk about detailed!) and used it last Sept. to prevent forgetfulness! :thumbsup2

We leave tomorrow, too! It's been helpful!

Since we haven't gone yet, I don't know what I've forgotten this trip ;) , but on a similar length trip in February we actually left the house without an entire suitcase that I now have to check with the toiletries, overflow of kids' clothes, etc.! :scared1: Count your bags before leaving home. :) (Luckily we're only 20 minutes from the airport and DH actually had time to go home and get it, but...)

One one trip I forgot to pack my mini-first aid kit. They sell them at target, walmart, etc. It's great for the usual scraps and falls that happen after the rope drop at MK. It has band aids, alcohol prep pads, antibiotic cream, etc. I have four kids....and I also have that kit in the baby bag.....except for my last trip to WDW.

I am the same way. I also used that packing list - it's great, and you can definitely not forget your sweatbands if you use that list! :lmao:
