Should I call and make sure everything is set? I made reservations online and have the e-mail print out. Will that be enough? We have used ME dozens of times and have never had this issue before:confused3 Thanks!

I'm in the same boat, leaving on 9/8, no ME stuff yet. I called on Thursday and they said they did show they had my flight info in the system and weren't sure what had happened. They promised to send out another set yesterday and said I should receive them early next week. Call them now, I'd say.

You CAN use ME without the vouchers - they will have you in the system and will need a photo ID. The biggest problem will be the yellow luggage tags, but I hear they can still collect your bags if you hand them over your claim tags.

We leave 9/7 and didn't get our stuff either. Our TA says lots of people right now are having the same problem. I would definitely call right now and have them resent. I hear it takes a week to get them. We requested it yesterday, Friday, and we leave a week from Monday. I'm anxious to see if they get here in time!

We leave October 2 and got our DME stuff almost 2 weeks ago, so there is definitely a glitch somewhere.

As long as you have a printed confirmation you will be fine BUT you will have to handle your own luggage when you arrive at MCO as you won't have the luggage tags for auto transfer.

For anyone who needs it here is the direct # to DME: 866-599-0951.

You can still have the luggage transfer if you don't have the tags, you just have to describe the bags to the DME CM a MCO, they have a booklet and will ask you to pick what your luggage resembles and they will ask for your claim tickets. I suggest tying a ribbon around the luggage to differentiate it as well as taking a photo with either a cell phone or digital camera to show the CM's.

As long as you have a reservation, even without the packet you are fine all you need to do is go to the DME desk and they will print out a letter that will enable you to board DME.

Good to know but NO way in heck would I trust that type of system! I just know my luck and my suitcases would never make it.

Much safer to just grab your own suitcases and roll them the short distance to DME and sit back and relax knowing your bags are safe and sound.

I see how it is much safer to grab your own bags I have used DME many times and twice without the luggage tags, once when I didn't know what it was for and the second time this past march when the dog with the paper habit chewed my DME stuff to bits. I never gave it a second thought and didn't have a problem. While anything can happen, I would be more worried about the airline getting my bag from point a to point b

Not sure why you feel that way. Disney has been doing this for more than four years. That period has to include many Guests who did not get (or whose dog ate ;)) the DME packet/tags but who, following Disney's contingency plan, DID get their luggage delivered via the service.

That's great. Just not my cup of tea. Hope it works out for the OP.

Got it. Just didn't want to mislead the several dozen readers of this thread who shouldn't worry about a system that's seemed to work well for several years simply because they didn't get luggage tags.

No tags is a contingency Disney covered before Magical Express even ran its first bus. DISers/readers who didn't get their luggage tags now know Disney will get their checked luggage to them and that one person not trusting the procedure shouldn't stop everyone else from trusting/using it - with or without luggage tags.

As mentioned above, we haven't received our tags and we leave a week from tomorrow. My TA also reassured me that DME will still get our bags, as long as we have the baggage claim tickets. She said the same thing happened on her trip a few months ago, and her luggage arrived to her with absolutely no problems. Just to further reiterate that it should be just fine (because that's what I'm telling myself too!)

It will be just fine, I have done it and didn't even think about it. The luggage service is the greatest part of DME as far as I am concerned
