Leaving in 1 week! Memory Maker??

It is confusing. Ive called and Ive chatted with cast members today to try to figure everything out. They both told me similar things, so Im pretty happy with the answers, but I know sometimes they are not always 100% accurate so Im uneasy with purchasing the MM. My questions are:

1. As a previous poster, if my group separates and does ride/meal photos and uses a different card, can they still be added to our photos. Ive been told yes by both CMs, but I still worrry.

2. Goes along with #1, but is it ok to have multiple cards? We will not have the magic bands and we are a large group, we will separate multiple times. I will be the only one downloading the pictures as they will all give me the cards at the end of our trip and Ill make the CDs. Will this all work?

3. How do you link the cards to your MDE acct, before or after taking photos?

The more I think about it, the more confused I get. UGH!

I am getting different info as well first I heard we have 30 days to use MM then I see a post about only good for 14 days. I don't think 14 days is long enough at all. But if it is 4 that won't work for me at all.

Just got back today from 10 days at Disney. We had Memory maker. It worked like a charm. All of my family I had linked on MDE could get pics on our band. We had 300 pics. Can't wait to download them. We got to look at them at the beach club every night between 5-10pm.

I purchased it before we went for $149 and feel,it is well worth the money.

Here is the exact quote from the Disney website to answer your question:

"You can begin capturing photos as soon as you purchase Memory Maker. Once you download the first photo—or otherwise redeem your Memory Maker purchase—you then have 30 days to capture more photos. Please remember to download your photos before they expire."

You only have 45 days from the date each photo was taken to download the file. If you need to use Memory Maker for the entire 30 day period you would still have 15 days left before the photos taken on day 1 would expire.

The conflicting number of days may have to do with when park tickets expire. Park tickets expire 14 days after the first use, unless they are the non-expiring tickets of course!

Hope this helps!

I'm visiting with another family and we are already linked together on MDE. To clarify one thing; the Memory Maker faq says the following:

"Attraction photos can only be linked to your Disney account if Memory Maker is assigned to you. Your family and friends cannot link attraction photos to their Disney account."

So to confirm; if I buy the Memory Maker, my linked family and friends can add regular Photopass pics that I can download, but only I can do the attraction photos? So if we're split up, they can't add attraction photos to the account for me to download later?

From what I've heard from others who have already used MM, you are currently able to use the attraction photos that anyone who is linked to your MDE account captures. It is believed that this statement is listed by Disney as a disclosure in the case that it actually does go into effect. This can change at anytime, without notice, because it is already stated in the terms. However, as I mentioned, everyone's attraction photos have been available at this time. I have not yet experienced this situation personally, it is just what I've heard through the grapevine.
I'm not helping things, am I? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Hi everyone we are leaving in 1 week from today :cool1:

I still have not made up my mind about Memory Maker :confused3

I like the idea of all of use being in pictures together .. but it is another $150….not sure what are your thoughts?

Thanks!

We've done PhotoPass, then PhotoPass+, and bought MM for our upcoming trip. It has always been worth every penny to have photos that include both of us! And now that it includes many of the ride photos and restaurant photos, it is an even better value IMO.

As long as you take advantage of having your photo taken as much as possible, you will be VERY happy with the outcome.

Buy it at least three days before you are due to arrive, so you can use it every moment you are at Disney.

Haha! No, that does help! I feel like I've been saying that so much to the other family in planning things - "well, it's this way now, but it could change by then so we just have to wait and see." See: Anna and Elsa meet and greet.

At any rate, thanks! Still worth it to me.

For me its worth it just to have the chance to have everyone in pictures together. Last time we didn't have PP CD and there is little to no pictures of me since Im the family photographer. It will be nice to get some pictures of the whole family.

I bought PhotoPass+ back in October for our upcoming, first-ever trip (March). I got some stuff in the mail back then that I carefully packed away. Now I have questions!

I have a voucher that says it needs to be brought and exchanged at a photopass sales center listed on the voucher. Do the sales centers still exist?

Thats a question I dont know the answer too, and would like to know myself as I still have one of these.

There is a 12 digit number on the front of the voucher. Can I use this number to link the pass to me in MDE?

I know you cannot link the FP+ voucher to your MDE.

If so, the voucher says my photopass+ card will be validated and can be used for 14 days. MDE says I have 45 days to get my pics. I assume the 14 days start with the first picture. Do the 45 days start when I link the voucher or are they from first picture?

You have 45 days from the day you link the cards to your account to review/edit the pictures before ordering.

I have a separate voucher for the cd. If I link my voucher in MDE have I converted to MM and lost the ability to use my free cd voucher?

The Photopass website is still working, I ASSUME nothing changed, a better answer is needed though

We are spending two days at Magic Kingdom for our first family trip with our 3 & 4 year old daughters. Is Memory Maker worth getting for just the two days. I love the idea of not worrying about taking pics and all if is being in them.

I don't yet see how people can end up with hundreds of photos. Are they spending lots of time at photography stations?

Also, just to confirm, do the Buzz Lightyear photos also get included?

Thanks in advance!:hourglass

When we were there in early February we had no problems using the photopass+, we redeemed it in Guest Services in Downtown Disney on our arrival day (so we didn't have to waste time in the parks on it the next day)

I know you cannot link the FP+ voucher to your MDE.
We linked ours? All of our photopass+ pictures are in our MDE account whenever we log in if that is what you are talking about. Our MDE account also has any pictures they scanned our Magic Bands after taking but not the PP+ card. We put ALL the pictures on the PhotoPass cd with no issues (ride pictures, meal pictures, PP+ pictures, Enchanted Tales with Belle pictures, MagicBand pictures
