Leaving in 1 week! Memory Maker??

We purchased photo pass in October and loved it. I am getting Memory maker for our May trip. I really do think it is worth it. Disney phoographers look for the great photo moments and take them. I also like the magic additions like the borders.

We're leaving next Saturday and I'm pretty sure I want to purchase Memory Maker. One question: When these photos are taken and linked to an account, this is the MDE account? Okay, 2 questions ;): Will these photos stay in the account forever, or do they need to be downloaded?

They must be downloaded!! Each picture expires 45 days after the date it was taken. Pictures on the first day of your trip will expire before the pictures on the last day, make sense? You can purchase a one time 15 day extension if needed. And yes, they are linked to the MDE account and are then viewed and downloaded from the photo pass/memory maker link.

When you purchase the memory maker, do you get a CD with your pics or do they go into an online account? Do you download them onto your computer them onto shutterfly or a similar site to have them printed?

Fabulous, thanks for your help. Just purchased MM moments ago!

If four separate families are going together and staying at the same resort can we all use the same one and share it?

Couldn't you load the digital pictures onto a CD yourself? Instead of paying the $30?

The $30 cd is professional pictures taken around the parks of characters and icons, etc. Your personal pictures aren't part of the cd. They are only available for download as part of the Memory Maker package or a la cart at about $15/download. You can also order individual prints.

Yes as long as you are all linked to the person who buys Memory Maker through the My Disney Experience account.

They go into your account. They must be downloaded within 45 days from the date each picture was taken. You do not get a cd of your pictures, however, you can burn a cd after you download the pictures onto your computer. You will get the copyrights to the pictures so you can print them from anywhere.

We ended up getting lucky and our travel agent gave us FP+ for free before our trip, I will definitely be insisting on it for future trips! It is so nice to have the pictures of all of us together on a camera nicer than mine in all the parks, wide all the effects and borders. When we were there I mentioned to dh that the price is about what you would pay a normal family photographer but you get SO much more than with a normal family photographer.

Can you explain FP+? Sorry, newb :)

Does anyone know if it can be used at the water parks? We purchased it for our upcoming trip with that in mind because our last trip they had photographers in the water and I thought it would be cool to have water shots but I've never see it mentioned. And wasn't sure if that's part of Memory Maker??

I just spoke to a woman about this today when I made reservations for the TL surf lessons-she said there is no photographer at the surf lessons, but they are in the water parks for the character meet and greets. She didn't say anything about them being around for candids, so I assume it's just for the characters.

I think the previous poster was referring to PP+, which is PhotoPass+. PP+ was replaced by Memory Maker.
FP+ is FastPass+ and is the new ride reservation system that replaced the legacy FASTPASSes. It gives you the ability to make ride time reservations up to 60 days prior to your trip when staying at a Disney resort. If you are staying off site you can use FP+ the day you go to the park by making selections at kiosks inside the parks.

Oops! I did indeed mean PhotoPass+ rather than FastPass+ ;) PhotoPass+ has been discontinued in favor of Memory Maker but those who already had PhotoPass+ are still able to redeem them.
FastPass+ is pretty awesome though :)

Uccats97, you seem to be pretty knowledgeable about MM. Can you tell me what the difference is from the PP+ I had last year. Is it just that it is digital and you don't get a cd or are there other differences.

I am on the fence about this. My DH and I are going for three days next week then a cruise then 3 days then coming back with our granddaughter 5 days later. Could we use the MM for all three visits even tho there are so many breaks the longest being 7 days for our cruise?
Thanks

Sure! PP+ is no longer offered, however, if you already purchased it for an upcoming trip you will still get it. Anyhow, Memory Maker is all digital. It includes all pics taken by photo pass photographers, all pics at character meals, and all ride pics. The pics are digital downloads only, no cd. Of course, you can make your own cd once you download the pics. PP+ did include a cd and some prints, MM does not. You can still order the Disney cd of the gallery/stock photos for $30. With PP+ you had to scan the one PP+ card. With MM it is connected to your MagicBand and anyone you add as family or friends in your My Disney Experience account can link up to MM and include their pics too. Only the person who purchased MM can download the pics but you get the copyrights and can share with anyone. Pics must be downloaded within 45 days of the date each pic was taken. The price is the same, $149 when purchased in advance at least 3 days prior to your trip or $199 if purchased less than 3 days before your trip or during your trip. Hope this helps!! :)

Yes! You can use Memory Maker for 30 consecutive days!

I bought PhotoPass+ back in October for our upcoming, first-ever trip (March). I got some stuff in the mail back then that I carefully packed away. Now I have questions!

I have a voucher that says it needs to be brought and exchanged at a photopass sales center listed on the voucher. Do the sales centers still exist?

There is a 12 digit number on the front of the voucher. Can I use this number to link the pass to me in MDE?

If so, the voucher says my photopass+ card will be validated and can be used for 14 days. MDE says I have 45 days to get my pics. I assume the 14 days start with the first picture. Do the 45 days start when I link the voucher or are they from first picture?

I have a separate voucher for the cd. If I link my voucher in MDE have I converted to MM and lost the ability to use my free cd voucher?

Sorry for all the questions. I am a planaholic and this ONE thing is causing me more anxiety than I care to admit. :headache:

I'm visiting with another family and we are already linked together on MDE. To clarify one thing; the Memory Maker faq says the following:

"Attraction photos can only be linked to your Disney account if Memory Maker is assigned to you. Your family and friends cannot link attraction photos to their Disney account."

So to confirm; if I buy the Memory Maker, my linked family and friends can add regular Photopass pics that I can download, but only I can do the attraction photos? So if we're split up, they can't add attraction photos to the account for me to download later?
