We are leaving from Houston (Cypress) tomorrow morning at 4:00 a.m. and will arrive at the Fort sometime on Saturday afternoon. Pulling our fifth wheel. First trip for us to the Fort and can't wait to camp there. First trip to Disney for our grandaughters and they are sooo excited!:yay:

We are leaving the end of the month with our 5th wheel from just north of you. You are going to get spoiled and will want to go back every year. Its so much fun to take little ones and see the joy on their faces. Have fun...

We're leaving from just south of Houston for the first week in June pulling our fifth wheel.

Just curious what kind of driving itenerary everyone uses from around here, drive straight through, stop for one night and make it 2 days, or break it up into 3 short days and enjoy the trip?

Trying to decide how I want to tackle this trip.

We are stopping in Tallahassee and then on to Disney World and the Fort on Saturday. First day will be a long day but it will be worth the push so that we can arrive early afternoon the next day.

Have a great time! We are leaving tomorrow morning also, but from Pearl River, Louisiana.. Driving to Ocala or Wildwood for most of it then arriving at Disney on Saturday Morning! Have a safe trip.:banana::banana:

Thanks for the info!

We are scheduled to check in on Sunday and were planning on breaking it into 2 even driving days leaving Saturday.
Now it looks like we'll be able to leave on Friday, so I'm torn between spreading it out over 3 easy driving days or adding an extra night to our reservation and coming in on Saturday.

We used to drive almost straight thru but now take longer, this year as in some past years we are stopping in the Ft. Walton - Destin area and staying in a state park on the beach for two days. Florida has some great state parks that are reasonable, and camping sites as well as comfort stations are right up there with Disney...

Have fun jpthom17 and everyone else.

Please be extra careful going through Baton Rouge. That is the worst part of the drive. There's still lots of construction on I-12 through Denham Springs. Once you get past that stretch the rest of the trip is easy going if you make it through Mobile before or after work traffic in the afternoon. Have fun and be safe.
Love college football and WDW!

I am stopping at Florida Caverns State Park for an over night stop. Its just a few miles off the interstate. Should be a nice quite place to catch a few Zzzzz.
