Hi my name is Melissa. I am leaving Fri. for Florida and was wondering about stroller rentals. I have a 3 yr. old and a 7 week old baby. I saw that there were stroller rentals available, but didn't see any pics of them. Can anyone describe them to me?
I would like to have a stroller that laid back so that the baby can stretch out a little, or if my 3 yr old needs a nap. Any suggestions? I have a stroller at home that reclines a little, but hate to bring it along b/c it takes up packing room in the vehicle...help me!! thanks! Melissa

There is a picture of one in my signature if you can see it, that's the double. They don't recline. I would suggest you bring your own for what you want it for, your own will probably be most comfortable, and you can have it wherever you go in the World, not just in the parks. Have a great trip! :wizard:

thanks so much for the quick reply...doesn't look like it's gonna work for a nap haha...oh well, worth a shot! thanks for the pic! we are from NC and I haven't been since I was 8 and now we are taking my 2 boys for the first time! we are super excited! If you have any great tips for toddlers and what to bring and such, I would be glad to hear!
thanks again, Melissa

I woud definitely bring your own stroller, much more comfortable. This time of year i would bring a mist fan, and a clip on fan for the stroller for the kids, it gets real hot..especially in the strollers. Hats of course and lots of sunscreen..get it on the ears and feet too..i hate when i see those poor kids with sunburt feet :(. NOt sure about the 7 week old with sunscreen, i would ask your pediatrician..i read somewhere that you can use diaper rash cream ( like desitin) because the zinc oxide will block the sun..your baby may be white all day, but not burnt..LOL.
Another tip..we usually get to the parks early(opening), that way it is not as hot or crowded. We stay until around noon, go back to the resort and either take a nap or swim for a while, then head back to the parks around 5 pm. I think the kids(and adults..lol) definitely need some down time!

Deb Wills' site ( allearsnet.com ) has a page with pictures of the strollers.
The rental strollers are not at all appropriate for a 7 week old, although they would be fine for a 3 yr old. One of the things you could do is bring along a stroller for the baby and rent one for the older child.

Have a great trip. Definitely bring your own stroller. We went last year with our 3 kids, youngest DD was 3 mo. I would also suggest some type of carrier, we used the Baby Bjorn Air. If baby is asleep, you can bring your stroller into the restaurant. The only place we could not take our stroller into was "The Land" where Soarin' is in Epcot. Make good use of the Baby Care Centers they are wonderful.

My biggest advice for a toddler: NAPS!!! We took DS when he was 2-1/2, he was the type of child that could handle not taking a nap, might be a little cranky but tolerable under normal conditions but at WDW - HE WAS A TERROR!!! WDW is so over stimulating, most kids need a break and a nap or you will have meltdowns in lines, restaurants, bathrooms - everywhere. That is my biggest tip, make sure they are well rested.

Have a great trip!!!

I would definately bring your own double stroller if you have one. Our first trip with the kids we brought our sit n stand using the infant car seat attachment. It was bulky, but DS was 5 months and I liked being able to keep him sleeping when we got on the buses, etc.
.

I think you're going to need to bring your own stroller. I can't imagine putting an infant in a WDW stroller. They seem to be really made for older babies that can sit up on their own. Have a wonderful time in Disney!!
