I have a quick question, we are leaving tomorrow for the Fort. First time camping at the fort. We are traveling with another family. We are stopping in NC and then in Savannah and arriving at the fort for check in on Saturday.
Both our families have premium sites booked. We don't know the good sites from the bad. We don't care which loop we are in or which sites, just so we are together in a premium loop. Will they keep us together?:confused3

Don't know if you will see this answer in time, but we travelled with friends last Thanksgiving and we had premium sites booked. We linked our reservations together at the time we made them and they put us right next to each other.

By any chance are you stopping at the KOA south of Savannah? If so, that is a good place to pull in for the night and hit Disney the next morning. We left from there at 7:30, made one stop for diesel, and it was an easy 5 hours to get to the fort. We got there about 20 minutes before they started checking everyone in at 1 pm.

Would that be the Cordele, GA. KOA campgrounds you are thinking of? We stayed there 1 night on the way down to the Fort from Ohio and then 1 night on the return. We thought it was o.k. Bathroom/shower facilities were good and it was pretty deserted being that it was mid-January.

We like the Savannah South KOA at Richmond Hill, GA - there's a great little lake where egrets roost in the trees every night. It's right in the campground!

Easy in and out off I-95

Yep! That's the one I was talking about. Easy ride down to the Fort from there.

Ditto that! We were just there last week. Nice facility and nice staff.

Yes..Almost identical. We decided to stay tonight.(Thurs) in Emporia VA. at a yogi bear jellystone park. We will leave here tomorrow and have reservations at the Savannah South KOA in Richmond Hill. Then on to the Fort on Sat. morning. I hope they keep us together like they did for you and yours. We do have our reservations linked. Hopefully it all works out. We can't wait to get there, but we are enjoying the trip down as we go.:thumbsup2

Good deal. I know exactly where that Jellystone Campground is, too. We have camped there before, but it has been a number of years. Coming from Emporia, your travel time to the KOA should be roughly 8 hours depending on how many stops you make along the way. We left from Va Beach last year and it took us right at 10 hours to make it to the KOA and Emporia is about 2 hours away for us.
